39 W - 17L (26th February 2009)
27 games left
If the spurs wanna get 60 wins this season, they need to get more 21 wins in the remaining 27games,My dear freinds , Look at TP and TD, both of them have been playing well since the beginning of January so that as long as the spurs continue keeping this state, I think that the spurs will get 60 wins this season.
60 wins above mean a standard and level of a championship team. right?
It is make sense and reasonable for a championship team to achieve in regular season.
Did any championship team get less than 60wins in their year except for the 1999 spurs? well.perhaps just 2 or 3 teams

05 they were 59-23, 07 they were 58-24
at least there were 2 or 3 teams that won championships with less than 60 wins in the regular season. spurs look a little bit weaker than Lakers and celtics on paper, but basketball plays on court instead of papers. You can just speculate the spurs will not win the championship this season according their regular season statistics, but it's stupid to totally deny the possibility.
Manu and TD are resting but their team still plays good without them, and I don't think their injuries are that bad even to disable them to play games. Injury just makes 40% of the reason they rest, the main reason is they need to rest for the playoffs. Tony is still pretty young compared to Manu and Tim, and the spurs need Tony to keep this team afloat.
Manu and TD won't play many games during the rest of the season, they'll just play 2 or 3 games right before the postseason comes, as the warm-up for playoffs. There's no need for you spurs fans to concern their "injuries", there is no injury at all. TD and Manu are saving for playoffs.
There's nothing magic about getting to 60 wins. Six of the last nine champions didn't get to 60.
59 - 2005 SA
58 - 2002 LA, 2007 SA
56 - 2001 LA
54 - 2004 Detroit
52 - 2006 Miami
Miami Cheat wasn't the champion of 05-06, though most people consider them so.
the world's champions of 05-06 are Dallas Mavericks.![]()
Where are the Banners?
They'd have to go 21-5 the rest of the way. I dont think that is going to happen.
Don't feel bad about getting cheated in 2006. The very next year the Mavs gave you something even more special than a championship. Lots of teams have won a championship. But how many can say they won 67 games and got knocked out in the 1st round? Only one. That honor is yours and yours alone. Cherish it.![]()
mavs think they got cheated in 06? hahahahaahhaha
06 spurs were robbed in the spurs v mavs series...i swear it should not have gone to 7 games....spurs got alot of unlucky calls in the final seconds of 1-2 games in that series....
You're right,I thought games 3 and 4 we awfully officiated. I remember expecting Pop's reactions waiting for him to throw fire and lightning at the officials but all he said was something like : we'll have to play much better to win against them.
Mavs fans probably don't think so and I'd deffinitely not make excuses for the loss, but I had some fun watching D-Whistle go to the line just as much as Dirk did against the Spurs.
Pop will not push the team hard enough to get 60. With all of the injuries he is going to do what he can to get the guys healthy and prepare for the playoff run. LA has a huge lead for the #1 seed anyway (not that it seems to enter into Pop's thinking these days).
Not gonna happen but it doesnt really matter anyways
The 05-06 Spurs went 63-19. And I agree with you, they are built for the playoffs, not regular reason.
Probably not but I don't really care. I care about the health of the team going into the POs first and foremost. It won't matter if they are banged up - Manu's ankle last year should be a clue. And now he and TD are hurting but fortunately have enough time to heal and be ready.
my friend, you post too many threads.
Possible but rather unlikely. Besides it doesn't matter. Spurs have won it all with less than 60 wins twice (or 3X if you count '99 but 50 game season) and we were screwed in '06 when we won 63.
Taking the question seriously for a moment, with 26 games left, a 20-6 finish seems pretty unlikely. The Spurs have 14 games left against teams that are over .500 (8 at home and 6 on the road), but none of those are teams that are particularly close to the .500 mark. Atlanta is 7 games over .500 and Phoenix is 8 over; all the other +.500 teams on the Spurs' schedule are at least 11 games over .500. Here's what's left in that group of games:
CLE -- H, A
PRT -- A, H
DAL -- A
PNX -- H
LAL -- H
HOU -- A, H
BOS -- H
ATL -- A
NO -- A, H
UTH -- H
The 12 games against teams under .500 are evenly split home and away, and most are against the poorest teams in the league (record-wise). But there's some danger here, given that the Spurs still have the improving Thunder three times (including twice in OKC), the sometimes-dangerous Warriors twice, and the mildly-resurgent T'Wolves once more.
20-6 over that span seems like wishful thinking to me; and given that Pop has shown no interest in "going for it" during the regular season, I'd say it's not possible. That's particularly true if they play well in their remaining division games and put some distance between themselves and HOU, NO, and DAL.
But 55-58 wins is doable for this team, barring more injuries.
you take out the first 3 losses of the season, and the 2 losses recently....we coulve been on pace for 70-12
and be worn out for the playoffs
That's wrong..but funny!!
