Although there is a very small percentage of Californians that do not like the lakers most will pull for them in the finals because of their california roots. I have a friend who came out here when he was 15 years old from the east coast. He was a piston fan and he does not like the lakers either but he is what I call a bandwagon fan. His team is whatever team beats the lakers. My question to the california fans that are now Spurs fans, how long have you been Spurs fans? If you became fans in 2003 or later, you're bandwagon fans. Out of all the teams to choose, you chose the Spurs? The Spurs were a pretty boring team and have been for years. They participated in some of the ugliest basketball in the history of the NBA finals. Tim Duncan, a great player but not one of the most graceful players to ever suit up. He's a big whinner and a serial molester. So my question, What exactly attracted to you the spurs?
Ive been a spurs fan since i was 14 and that was back in 1991.

Exactly why people hate that smug franchise called the Lakers. Ever wonder why the Lakers are so hated. I'll give you a hint, people like you think that your ty ass team is above everyone.

BTW the last time i checked, the Boston Celtics were a notch above the LA Lakers. 17 >>9

And that was another reason why everyone loved Jordan & the Bulls, they didn't go and start raping white chicks & act smug. They also didn't have a drama sitcom going on when they were wining les in the 90's.

<----------- Phoenix Spurs fan here (close to Cali )

Although I was born and raised in AZ I have family that is from SA and Austin. My uncle is a huge Spurs fan and I remember him and I always watching Spurs games together when I was around 4 (1990/1991). He would always buy me Spurs gear for my birthday/Christmas presents so naturally I have always been a Spurs fan. I do admit I was also a big follower of Michael and the Bulls but I still have the Black and Silver in my veins.

Being from AZ I am a HUGE hater of the Phoenix Suns. I have never liked them and never will. During the 93 Finals (Bulls/Suns) I was the only kid at my elementary school rooting against them, and even back then all PHX fans did was cry and .

first of all, leave it to a Lakers fan to post to a thread, and a forum for that matter, that doesn't even apply to him.

secondly, I've been a Spurs fan since Robinson's rookie year. after I saw him play, that's who I wanted to be like.....forget Mike.

i live in oc and theres load of bandwagon lakers fan. all my friends are die hard lakers fans since showtime but you see a lot of people only cheer on the lakers cause they see people around them doing it, especially in bars. they couldn't even name 10 people on the lakers roster.

you can mention the showtime lakers and shaq/kobe's lakers as exciting but how exciting was it when the lakers had Anthony Peeler, Sedale Threatt, George Lynch, Cedric Ceballos...

the only thing i liked from the lakers was chick hearn's commentating. he was was unbias and great to listen to.

I remember went to the bar here in LA couple of years ago,it was LA against SA in the final game after 0.4 drama. All my friends are Lakers diehard fans...but i see your point. Lots of em didnt even know players name and only want to have some fun. All chicks, particularly asian wore purple and yellow bikinis. The group that i came with was Lakers fans, but they keep others Lakers fans from bugging me since im the only one in the bar cheering for Spurs..

No reason to get hostile. The Lakers are hated because they're winners.

The Celtics do have more les than the Lakers. 17-14 but the Lakers have been the more successful franchise over the years.

The rape of a chick is crazy and I can tell you're not from around here. Whatever, I'm not mad at ya!

It's a free country. I post where i want to post.

Of course the lakers have a lot of bandwagon fans. They're winners. The Spurs have those also because of the same reasons. I was wondering if you were one of those.

I'm an OG when it comes to the NBA. I've been a fan since the 80's. I was really just curious. I'm a big fan of the game moreso teams. I like to see the game played the right way.

I understand the David Robinson point that was made. I like the rockets because of the Dream. He was one of my favorite players and because of that I like to see the rockets do well against every one except the Lakers. I just couldn't see myself having the spurs as my favorite team if I wasn't from there or pulled for them a long time.

SoCal born and raised. Spurs fan since Robinson was drafted. Like the Dodgers, USC, Raiders, and the Clippers are my adopted local team.

Always despised the Lakers and always will. It's not because they win, it's not because of their popularity, it's not because of their players. I hate them for one reason and one reason only:

    Their fans.

Their fans, many of whom I grew up with, are the among the most arrogant, en led, and annoying in all of fandom. Combine this with the heavy population of bandwagoners and idiotic celebrities, and you get the worst fanbase in all of sports.

On a side note LOS ANGELES Lakers fans, your team has 9 les, not 14. As a Dodger fan, which I became by virtue of my location, I don't count the le won in Brooklyn. Many of you would be rooting for the Clippers if the Lakers didn't relocate.

Whether you count them or not those are les that belong to the lakers and btw, it was Minneapolis.

I don't count those early les of Boston and others because in that day the NBA stood for No Blacks Allowed. Lawyers, doctors and politicians could buy spots on the roster. So the best players were not playing at that time and there were about 8 or 9 teams with boston buying all of the good players. So by my math, its 9-7 Lakers.
