Disagree with Pops...Vaughn and Udoka, yes. Pops...no..he's 25, energetic, brings a spark, and if we let him go, he's gonna go somewhere else...and we can't afford that.
Pops was a free agent the last two years and couldn't even stick with a Euro team.

I know..I know..but he's looking more and more like a guy who can help us. He didn't get any minutes in the NBA, and in the D League, looked like a monster. Who knows what could happen. I'm not saying he's the return of the Admiral or anything, but he could be part of our future.

Luther Head played well against Spurs in the past and Spurs are known for going after players who performed well against them.

It this info is true, it will likely mean that Spurs aren't that confident about Hill's ability to be a solid backup PG during the playoffs for this year. Playoffs for rookies aren't something easy to manage.

Head would work quite well as PG with Ginobili at SG. Head would bring the ball up and let Manu do the playmaking tasks.
    Except Head can't dribble.

Head is a relic from the old JVG offensive system and recently only rotted on our bench with the emergence of Von Wafer. The old systen was to play suffocating D, kick it in to Yao and surround him by 3 point shooters. He was okay in that system, but recently he has been worthless to us.

He can't dribble, can't pass, can't defend, can't drive to the basket, but is a dead eye shooter with an awkward form. He is the epitome of what was wrong with the Rockets for the last few years, playing way too one dimensional. I believe he was 1-14 in the playoff series vs. the Jazz. If a shooter shoots 7% for a series, and can't do anything else, you have a problem.

Luther Head is NOT a point guard, he is an undersized shooting guard. He probably does not belong in the NBA, as he has developed nothing in many years here, outside of shooting.

I have to agree with this. Head isn't really a point guard. Hill is much more of a point guard than Head will ever be. Head would have fit on the Spurs back in like 2001 but with the motion offense and the need for more athleticism, he'd be a step in the wrong direction.

The only way he makes sense to me is if the Spurs are looking to replace Vaughn with a shooter. Even then, I'd trust Vaughn more in an emergency role.

This makes perfect sense for the Spurs to do this. You give us Barry, Scola, James White, and we give you one Rocket player in return. I was going to say Head but that would just be too easy for ya lol.

I have seen Head play before when I was follow Rockets. He is terrible player. Hill is much better then him. It is not even close. Head would be cut from any top Euroleague club within about 1 week I say.

Head is as much as a PG than Salim Stoudamire and Spurs tried him as their backup PG.
Spurs not to have a problem with having a shooter with no PG skills as backup PG.

I agree, i really don't get the love affair everybody has with this guy. Can he someday become a solid contributor on an NBA team? Sure, if he continues to work on his game...but he is still an unproven player and 10-12 minutes of garbage time in a blowout shouldn't guarantee him a playoff roster spot over proven NBA players who have made meaningful contribution to their teams.

Having said that, if this were the preseason, i say definitely give him a look.

Yes to Gooden and Head. Waive Pops and Vaugh or Udoka.
No way on Pops...he stays! Definitely get rid of Ime The Bum. If Pop needs to make room for both Gooden and Head (which I doubt Head is even in the mix) he could always designate Vaughn as an assistant coach and possibly as a player-coach, much like Nellie did with Avery in his last season. But, I'm sure that Pop will want Vaughn with the team in some capacity come playoff time because he has been Hill's main mentor/teacher/coach at practice.

His skills even for a SG is not acceptable for NBA level. It is not acceptable for Euroleague level. He is a good spot shooter with good range and he is clutch player from what I see. But this is all.

    terrible team defense
    terrible man defense
    terrible basketball IQ
    terrible passing
    terrible decision making
    terrible ball handling
    one dimension in offense

I would rather have Vaughn or Udoka over him.

I don't see where he'd fit in here, Gooden I believe.
right, there's really no room for him, he's not needed. gooden sounds like the best bet for a late season pick-up. they got plenty of small guys
