He should participate and really give us good show...let the world know Spurs players dunks the ball !!! That should give us more ESPN highlights, i know most of people here didnt care about highlights but marketing and media attention is what drives money in NBA. Moreover Spurs need better recognition and it doesnt hurt to be exciting and entertaining....

the way pops played in the 4th quarter made him look like a hustle player. I have been always preaching that what we needed was a big man who hustle, sort of like an Anderson Varejao type player. Of course, Pops style of play doesn't resemble anything like that of Varejao, but he has the explosiveness that we can certainly use off the bench

Things doesn't look good for Pops. Pop gave him yesterday a limited playing time in a blowout loss and reports are that Spurs are after Gooden.

I'm loving all the support for Pops. I' a Great Britain fan (& residence), and it is so brilliant hearing these positives & support for him. The guy is real class & he just needs to bed in a little more & i think you Spurs fans are going to have your fair share of highlight reels. Going back to previous post about able to shoot 10 foot jumpers. He is definately capable of that. Over the last 6 months this is something that has improved hugely in his game. Can't wait to see how he gets on later, unfortunately can't watch it live to much of a time difference but hopefully there will be a nice highlights package waiting for me tommorow, & also the win would go along way in restoring some confidence to your team.

Used to, about a year ago-- aside from the dunking bit.

    1. I think we are bad at offensive rebounds because we are more concerned with our transition D and setting up our half-court D than getting offensive rebounds. I think its a cost-benefit thing and Pop decided its worth more to be better at D.
I think you're right, and I also wonder if our system will allow even a good rebounder to put up gaudy numbers. Do centers in our current scheme play in the paint enough to grab lots of boards?

If he doesn't get any minutes tonite then surely they're done with him. But I still hope they give him another shot next season

The Toros filled his spot rather quickly, if that is any indication they don't expect him back.

OTOH, the player taken filled a definite need (another SF with size) and is a little better than average D-League vet, so they could just waive someone else if Pops comes back.

Yeah, it seems like they weren't expecting him back, but with his minutes last night and the speculation about Gooden, it's very possible they could waive Pops and bring in Gooden, which sucks because I'd like to see Pops get more PT to prove he's worth something. I hope he plays alot of minutes tonight.

Gooden is an NBA starter and Pops is (and was) a D-League player for a reason. While Pops is definitely a developmental project.....think about what Pop wants. Guys who can play right now and Gooden gives them that!

This one is pretty easy...if the Spurs can get him!!!

exactly. i just do not get all the hate.

the guy comes in, is giving extremely limited minutes, does exactly what he was supposed to do, gives out team exactly the kind of things we need so bad, and yet still so many people are saying hes nothing and eager to waive him.

    i just dont get it.

Disappointing not to see Pops tonight. Drew Gooden? I guess he would be a decent big off the bench. But man, I sure would have liked to see Pops gets some more minutes.

    I would love that.

Unfortunately, SPurs need Udoka to throw at Kobe at some point. That is the sole reason Udoka is staying and Pops is leaving.
