    I wonder what amateur MMA means exactly....

    The sport hasn't been around enough to define that and I find it odd to see it on a poster. I mean why create a whole division for amateur fights when countless local shows routinely host guys who are 0-0 & up.

    Anyone...I'm not bagging on the event..I just find the wording odd.

    From their website...



    Cage size looks smaller like any show but the only difference I see is large gloves...those look like 8oz'ish. Almost like boxing sparring gloves? How can you grapple with those? Hard to tell from those pics.

    I'm sending them an email....very curious what they mean.

    I went.... One of my friend's stepdad's was the ring side doctor..and has been for these for a while. It makes me cringe and almost just grossed out to see this stuff on TV but went because she thinks her stepfather's cheating on her mother with another one of the doctor's so we needed to check it out. Turned out her step dad was super sick and didn't go, but we saw the "other woman," she wasn't hot (because I know you'll want to know).

    As for the fights..I don't know..a bunch of guys beat each other up. A black guy wearing tight shorts beat the champion who played Tejano music in the main event and some guy named Scott Reid won the submission challenge.

    Ash, what's the female Dr.'s name? We can go to her ofc & chk her out for your friend & give you a guy's POV. Femmes are wayyyyyyyyy too catty to make the call. Females always always always think the "other" woman isn't good looking.
