I dont think people realize how wide the gap is between the lakers and the rest of the western conference, at least some Spurs fans atleast.
It's wide as , and has been ever since the Gasol trade. That trade closed the window for West teams for this year and next.
Not that it'll win the Lakers a le, since they'll be slain by the King in the Finals, but they are a lock to get there barring aberrations or injuries.
This isn't your typical western conference like in the past, where there were 3 very good teams at the top (Mavs/Suns/Spurs in past few years) and nobody would be surprised if any of them reached the Finals.

The only thing stopping the Lakers from reaching the Finals is health. If Bynum is available and at least 70-80% the Lakers will be fine.
