No..take this from someone who's been watching the spurs for over 20 years...and all of Pops coaching career. He couldn't give a flying monkey about this game. That's why Gooden will not suit up..I kind of believe that's why Manu won't suit up. Pop does NOT want the Lakers to see Gooden's play in a Spurs uniform and give them an opportunity to adjust for the playoffs. This is vintage CIA Pop. If we lose this game, the Lakers will sit back and think they have this in the bag. We're not catching you for the 1 seed...we know that...but we can definitely play the mind games that we know how to do so well.

I am a Die-hard Spurs fan since I was a kid. I really want the Spurs to beat the Lakers this year, even though I know it will probably be a long shot. The Lakers just have too much talents at every positions.

The Spurs do not have the salary cap that Lakers has, nor that Hollywood environment that intrigues star players. All Spurs has is the heart of a champion & a group of loyal fans. I will support the Spurs to the end.

One more note, I believe Pop is the best coach in NBA and RC is the best manager. I always believe that a good coach or a good manager is the one who accomplish the most with the least resources. (players, cap, fund, etc...) A coach who win championship with an all star team really doesn't mean much, except that he has good people skill. Just my 2 cents

And a good two cents it is. I do have to say one thing in rebuttal. All star players don't necessarily win a ring. When the Lakers had Payton, Malone, Shaq, and Kobe, they lost. All Stars doesn't guarantee a le. You have to work as a team. We'll see what happens.

I agree, I really think this will turn into a glen robinson type deal. He didnt play defense either until he got here, i think i recall a game where the big dog had like three blocks in a game after he got here and in a bucks uni that was rare if ever

I dont know, from what i remember glen was pretty good for his role. He provided a solid scoring punch for sure but really shored up his defense

It will give the Lakers another chance to set an NBA record (2008) for losing with highest score disparity in a Finals game which you also originally set in 1965. Third time will be a charm?

spurs have a good shot to win even without manu and gooden due to yet again facing L.A at home when they are playing a back to back after going to houston the night before...for the 2nd time this season..talk about good scheduling.

Another meaningless regular season game. Yawn. I'm sure the Spurs will come out to compete, but don't be surprised by Pop throwing the towel early.
At any rate, watch out for the Charlotte game tuesday first. They're fighting for a playoff spot in the East, and they gave us some trouble when we played them in their house. This is the kind of game where we need to show up and play hard early so there are no surprises.

Bobcats have won a franchise record 6 straight games and they are a handful for our offense since they have turned up several notches up Defensive wise... it'll be a tough game

On tuesday the spurs are at home agianst the bobcats. This is a team that beat the l.a. lakers on there court. then on thursday we got the lakers a team that lost in the finals agianst the celtics. Im not the one to brag but ever since Tim Duncan has been on the spurs and they been in the finals the spurs took care of business in winning 4 les in 4 apperences. so that tells you that the spurs win in important games so when we play the lakers on thursday we gotta win because we need to try to get home court advantage through out the playoffs because were pretty much unstopable at home in the playoffs.

That = no chance of catching them.
We'd have to go 20-0 and they would have to go 11-9 for us to overtake them. Not happening. Besides, isn't Manu still sitting?
