I think the truth is that we're all supposed to awed by the bad-assedness of a guy who "gets to hang out" and engage in shenanigans with several delinquent mothers and who can stay so cool over a "17 hour drinking binge" that he can offer a precise inventory of what he drank.

All other issues are superfluous. When you are the Spurs Talk equivalent of Chuck Norris on the social scene, like this guy, everything else is irrelevant.
