Thank God...Ariza should have been, also..but it's better than nothing.

Lamar Odom of the Los Angeles Lakers has been suspended one game without pay for leaving the immediate vicinity of the bench during an altercation, it was announced today by Stu Jackson, NBA Executive Vice President, Basketball Operations.
The incident occurred with two seconds remaining in the third quarter of the Portland Trail Blazers’ 111-94 victory over the Lakers at Rose Garden in Portland last night.
Odom will serve his suspension tomorrow night when the Lakers face the Houston Rockets at Toyota Center.
Thank God...Ariza should have been, also..but it's better than nothing.
i didnt think there were players dumb enough to still get suspended for that rule
You still have the greatest sig ever.............................................. .......................................ever.
The Blazers beat them so bad last night, they lost TWO games!

But....but....but he didn't leave the bench.
He hadnt been doing for the Lakers lately anyway, so it's not like it really matters.
From what i heard, it took long for the league to figure out a suspension because he left the bench prior to the altercation.
They're still gonna win. After that ass whooping in Portland they're gonna come back strong.
You sound as if you've been hit in the head.
I thought if he stayed off the floor and out of the stands, he was okay.
Hmmm, guess that rule really does mean what it says.
I still say he did not just leave the bench area because he was chest to chest with Roy and talking crap. So he did more than leave the bench and if it was not for the Laker coach realizing what Odom was doing, it could have ended worse.
Oh yeah..the NBA hates the Lakers..you guys are treated so badly...get off it man...a rule is a rule.
yep yep. If you get off the bench during an altercation, it's a suspension..period. He went about 15 feet towards it...his intention was obvious.
We all know this suspension wouldn't have happened if this was the playoffs or if the Lakers didn't have the #1 seed locked up. This is the league's way of trying to say "See, the rule doesn't just apply to Phoenix! Leave us alone! money money money."
still don't know if this works in our favor... could be addition by subtraction
I'm glad you enjoyed yesterdays days game. It's nice to see you happy after eating a lot of crow in the first half of the season.
Don't worry, I'll be enjoying the game on April 10th even more!![]()
any laker fan that complains about this ! Ariza should have gotten a two game suspension for that foul. Odom's one game suspension is nothing.
