I think Anthony Johnson will be old enough to join the Spurs next season.
You don't think they cut Vaughn loose this offseason with Hill as backup and Mason as third-string backup in order to add an extra small forward? Yeah, they'll probably keep Vaughn, now that I think about it. I think Ime and Oberto will probably be gone to make room for Gist and (draft pick?). Heck, maybe Splitter has a buyout this summer (and would actually come over). Not likely, but it would be awesome. Not to mention we're adding a (hopefully) healthy Ian next year.

The draft sucks this year so more than likely the Spurs will trade their picks for 2010 or 2011.
You're probably right, but it would be sweet if they had another steal like Hill lined up. I wonder if they're still interested in Omri Casspi? He's a small forward, which is one of our greatest needs right now (Bowen and Finley are yet another year older, and no guarantee Gist is going to fill the gap entirely- if he even plays small forward).
We'd probably have to package some of our picks to move up and grab him at the beginning of the 2nd round, but it's not outside the realm of possibility.
Nelson had a pretty decent first game as a Toro. Some nice passes (especially in transition) but inconsistent decision making overall. Gives the team a penetrating guard it hasn't had since Hairston was called up. Huge minutes for a new addition, so he'll have plenty of opportunities.
The Toros pissed away leads in the fourth and overtime, wasting big games from Marcus Williams and Dwayne Jones. Eric Dawson went down with what looked like an ankle injury.
duke players stay away from them......
ahhaaahah
what kind of person has a meltdown over this
Although not all Duke players are bad. Boozer, Brand and Deng come to mind, I would stay away from DeMarcus Nelson like the plague. Overhyped and too inconsistent. He couldnt handle the pressure of big games and sometimes looked lost even in Duke's system. Thats bad considering that Duke's system makes average players look good.
As mentioned by others, he doesnt have a position that you could really put down that he excels in. Someone who is neither here nor there.
That's why he's a Toro. He'll get plenty of PT this last month of the season to see what he can do.
Toros are on a losing streak but the upside of this team is huge.
They could enter in the playoffs with a rotation of : Squeaky Johsnon, DeMarcus Nelson, Erza Williams, Malik Hairston, Marcus Williams, Dermar Johnson, Eric Dawson, Dwayne Jones and Ian Mahinmi.
That's 6 players with NBA experience and 3 very solid D-League players.![]()
