They were just talking like a lot of players do. The thing is.. Ron Ron let it get to him and started jacking up shots expecting to be the hero of the team and ends up 0-7 from 3. Kobe on the other hand well ignited. Good going Ron Ron.

Artest does love Kobe but he's also a "Tru Warrior." Ron competes no matter what. I don't think Kobe took it personal at all. I think Kobe actually likes Ron. But, Kobe would be damned not to take it to him after Ron started talking.
Pretty special night for Kobe all things considered. Going up against two of the best perimeter defenders in the league in Battier and Artest and then lighting them up in the second half. This just around the time people are starting to doubt if he's even "as good" as LeBron and Wade now that those two (especially Wade) have been doing some ridiculous things lately. Kobe just did it on Artest and Battier and a solid defensive team.
Think he wanted to remind people if they started to doubt that even if he's not necessarily playing better than LeBron or Wade, he's more than capable if he wanted to.
It's a spur of the moment kind of thing.
Kobe said in the after game interview the jawing started out kind of intense but by the end of the jaw session both were saying dumb funny things.
