It's really quite a compliment actually that the Lakers are so hated around the league.

I mean everyone from the Kings, Blazers, Spurs, Celtics, etc. thinks the Lakers are their direct rival.

The Lakers are held to a higher standard than any team in the NBA, including the Celtics.

They aren't allowed to go on two decade long slumps. They are pretty much expected to compete and win les every year by their fans and their haters. It sets up unrealistic expectations IMHO.

If I told you the Spurs would win at least 3 les in the next decade and make the finals 5 times most of you would think that would be a rousing success. But somehow this is a failure for the Lakers. Go figure.
