LMAO that ducks can get you guys to post this often, and this angry in his threads.
Liberals can keep all the universities and research centers. Conservatives can have all the churches.

Awesome. I think we'll be much better off.
There's always this proposal, which I'm still a big fan of:

There probably will be a division, it will be in my lifetime, it won't be near as clean as a split into red/blue countries, millions of people will die in wars, and in the aftermath everybody will be much worse off.
Prozac anyone?
And I'd like to see you ers secede. Stimulus money excluded, almost every red state in this nation is using more in federal dollars than they contribute. Get the out. See how well it works when the blue states aren't around to buy your for you.
I'm sure a Turk in 1850 who predicted that by 1950 the caliphate would have disintegrated, kufr Western Christians would be administering and/or dominating some of the pieces, and dhimmi Jews would have their own state in the middle of the Levant would have been mocked.
Your average American's exposure to military training consists of hollywood movies, and given the amount of obesity and general lazyness prevalent in the US, I don't see who exactly would run out to fight such wars.
You give us too much credit.![]()
don't worry about them. they don't understand you.![]()
I think that some form of disintegration is inevitable, but I don't see it as quite so violent or disruptive, or happening within my lifetime.
1) We're lazy because up until now things have been easy. When privation hits, I don't think this is a populace who will put its collective nose to the grindstone. I think this is a populace who will smash and grab. That is what the "easy way out" looks like under such cir stances. It is the uncivilized way.
2) Historically quite common is a scenario where young people are handed a gun and "trained" to point it at the other guys.
3) When things implode, people will be looking for someone to blame. The legacy of our national political culture over the past 15 years will make it very easy for anyone to identify who the enemy is who "betrayed" America.
4) There will be a scramble for control of land and resources, and it will be in the best interest of the fragmented elites to motivate frightened post-Americans to kill one another. Isn't that how most wars go?
I mean, come on, when the federal government goes insolvent and implodes, what do you think Confederate President Richard Shelby is going to say?
A) "Let's be calm and reasonable through these tough times, everyone!"
B) "The liberals, the atheists, the so-called intelligentsia at our universities, the secular humanists, the race-baiters, the radical gays, THEY DID THIS TO US!"
All that needs to be done is to educate the lower classes, USA is probably the one country in the developed world, where you have masses of people voting in a complete digression from what their economic interests are. Republicans deconstruct the world for them, they get rid of all the "hard to understand" parts, and serve it on the plate. And they digest....
Nothing elitist or snobby about that.
Clean water will the biggest one, IMO.
Interesting take. I like it.
Statistics also show that increased education correlates with more liberal views on social issues and economic issues. It's the strongest predictor of political opinions - stronger than race, class, religion, gender.
Are you a statistical anomaly?
Thats the best response u can put together? Is it like with those old sci fi movies; "can not process data, can not compute, program shutting down" or are you going to try and do better then that?
There are dumb people that voted for Obama and there are dumb people that voted for McCain. I don't believe that a person's political view necessarily correlates with intelligence.
Not intelligence, but education. That's ok though, that is as far as it goes i guess. In essence you don't trust the polls doing research on this subject, i kind of do.
Just out of curiousity, what if those polls are correct? How does one explain that?
It all depends on who you poll.

Well, there are a lot of liberal arts majors out there that have a great education. I'll leave it at that.
Who has a pregnant teenage daughter, who is unable to identify the number of houses owned, who can "see Russia from their house" are hardly the kind of questions that give any kind of testimony about the educational level of the people answering them, wouldn't you agree? It's just a survey done to show how familiar are voters with their own candidates.
Im sure however that there are more then a few studies circling around that show no correlations between education and political preference, and i really see no need for you to go through the hassle of finding them. I recognize that they exist.
Yep, Tina Fey can see Russia from her house.
