I didn't say that. And I certainly don't expect anyone to care whether I vehemently dislike them or not. I'm referring to this one situation. I don't think it does anything to the women's movement at all. I just feel sorry for this girl to have to live out this drama in the public eye. If her mother thinks it's okay for her daughter to be the butt of jokes on Letterman and the Daily Show as well as the internet, then by all means she should go for it. To me it all comes down to one question, "Is the kid's life better because of this?" and in most cir tances the kids lives are better for their mother's hard work. Being 18 is not easy. Being pregnant is not easy. Breaking up with your boyfriend, whom has been paraded around the national stage can definitely not be easy. But if her mother thinks it's all good....
