I'd take him and unlike Kobe, Tim doesn't mind giving up some salary to allow his team the needed cap flexibility to ensure they contend in his era.
From what I hear locally out here in So Cal, Kobe Bryant us of the mentality that he's en led to full max and will leave it up to Dr. Buss on how to keep the other guys.

Kobe will have to let of a lot of money, make about 8-9 million for the Lakers to have a chance to get a decent player. Not happening. I don't blame him. In the end, Kobe is a businessman and why should he try to give money back to Buss when Buss is far more richer than him?
