It's no secret the Laker's bench has severely underperformed this season. They are the reason the Lakers are blowing a lot of leads IMHO.

When Bynum returns and LO moves back to the bench I think some of those issues will sort themselves out. Still it is troubling to see both Farmar and Sasha playing so much worse than they were last season.

The Lakers need to look into moving both of them next season.
I agree with you, up until the idea of trading both Sasha and Farmar. I would prefer to keep both, even though they aren't performing up to last season's standards.

With Sasha, I think a lot of it has to do with teams being more aware of him, and not letting him be open at all. I rarely see Sasha with a wide open 3, unlike last year.

And with Farmar, he missed considerable time with that injury.

man..the Mavs are the biggest chokers I've ever seen, they shrivel up when it's clutch time..

Dirk has mastered the art of choking, so that's an obvious one..then Singleton mistimes the jump for the rebound on Kobe's last shot..and then after a stupid Odom shot, Dirk doesn't even try to run down the rebound LOL..

Lakers still haven't grasped that the game is 48 minutes long...I hate when they sleepwalk through stretches like that

I hope LA gets Dragic just cause I'm tired of hearing people talk about him and I want to see him in a situation where he'll succeed.....Phil Jackson supposedly had a lot of interest in him.

they were also playing against the Lakers bench in that period.

I've said it before too, Dirk disappears far too often against double teams. He had no impact at all on this game.

Props to Terry and Singleton--he was a nuisance on the offensive glass. For my boys, props to Ariza (great D and career-high O), and Kobe who was deadly in the clutch as always

Where was J.T in 4th quarter? He probably thought the game was over after he hit that three when the 3rd quarter ended.

25 and 8 averages is bad?

The length of the Lakers just bothers Nowitzki... 4 of the 6 meetings against them since the Gasol trade he's had poor shooting games.

He missed some FT's, and some shots he would normally make, but it's more the Laker defense than any "regression" with Dirk.

Gasol's a better defender than people give him credit for. Maybe not a great defender at the center spot.

Good game and nice comeback by the Mavs....the game was never out of hand though and given the bs zone employed it didn't work when it mattered and that's in the clutch.

Gasol proving his European player of the year award was no fluke. Meanwhile, Dirk was choking like it was the 1st round in 2007.

My Boys In Blue played spectacular today! I'm so proud of those guys!!! Having a lead with less than 6 minutes to go is just about as good as an actual win! Moral victories all around!

The main problem with him this season despite usually consistent offensive production is his lack of effort on D, boxing out and being content to be contained by double teams.

He and JET are the only source of offense for the Mavs and they are both jumpshooters that can be contained since no one else can create a shot to save their lives.

And Dirk seems to have mediocre shooting nights more often than before. But Cuban and Donnie's solution has been to only make the offensive load on him heavier than before. We love our team!
