Who cares what you think about Spurs D as you don't even have your facts straight, but I'm not surprised. Your team hasn't won any LOB's in several years. Why don't you at least wait until they win something this year.

And, if you're not worried about the Spurs, why are you always hanging out in the Spurs forum praying to the BB Gods that Manu doesn't come back? Well he will be back, and may the best team win. If the Lakers win then they derserve it, and if we win, well I wouldn't be surprised.

I was right on both counts.

Ding, Ding........ we have a winner. FG% is our runner-up. Couple them, and you've got a pretty good indication of who has the best chance of winnig it all.

Opp FG% is a much more indicative defensive stat than point differential. Mavs and Suns fan should know this more than anything.

there are several stats that can be used to determine the top defenses.

while the Spurs have definitely seen a drop off over the last few seasons, they are still in the upper eschelon of teams defensively.

3 contributors to their defensive decline:
1. opponents are shooting at a higher % against them.
2. they seem to give up a lot more offensive rebounds and second chance points than they did in previous years.
3. they are playing a bit more up tempo, running a bit more, and scoring more. extra possessions on offense tend to mean extra possessions on defense. so because opponents are shooting better, and getting more opportunities, they are scoring more against the Spurs.
