Ime... damn, I hope we find someone better to play his mins. Maybe once Manu returns we won't even see him in the rotation.
Put the best players you have available on the court at the end of the game. Pop didn't do this. Gooden would draw more attention than Bonner on that last possession the Spurs had.
Ime... damn, I hope we find someone better to play his mins. Maybe once Manu returns we won't even see him in the rotation.
Ime did do some stuff to earn minutes, but lately he's played like crap so why he is still getting those minutes is something only Pop can answer.
I really want to Bruce to get more court time now. We're not getting any extra offense from the guys Pop is putting out there instead. Tim and Tony have confidence in Bruce too. I'm not sure if they do with with some of the other players.
That is one question I would like an answer for - If these players Pop is putting out there with Tim and Tony are supposed to provide extra offense why are TP and Tim playing a two man game more often?
Ime won't play much when Manu comes back..
Pop isn't going to put Gooden on the floor in clutch time so soon..this is a guy that benched his big 3+Finley vs. a team that was battling us for the 2nd seed..do you think he really cares enough about these random games, that he would bring out all the stops in a meaningless game?..
Pop always has ulterior motives..since Bonner has been struggling lately, how do you know that he didn't just leave Bonner on to see how he reacts?..
agree... Bowen gives you waht he gives you and it's as reliable as anything. you know what you are getting with Bowen. and being a coach on the floor helps our defense more than Ime who's best attribute is supposed to be D.
don't you guys think Pop knows this?..
Pop thinks LONG TERM..he would rather know if Ime can handle these types of situations, rather than having Bowen on the floor in a meaningless game..
Yeah, what's Pops obsession with Ime over Bowen? Bowen's probably not even in game shape anymore since he's been sitting on the bench for so long now. I can't stand Udoka.
If Pop is not doing it for that reason then he should be called out. We really have no clue what he is doing unless he were to tell us.
quit the in'. pop knows what he's doing. which is why he's among the winningest regular season coaches of all time.
You're not the only Spurs fan in LA....I'm in that club too. I hope this team can start to get consistent prior to Manu's return. He's going to be rusty and who knows how healthy he will be especially if they feel the need to rush him back.....
joeycrawfordisathief please
stop making pointless threads.
Kill yourself.
We had a big lead to start the game.. but instead of blowing it wide open, Pop used that lead to leave the 2nd string rotational players out on the floor longer. What ended up happening is they let the Thunder back into the game and thats all they needed to be inspired enough to steal the win.
Pop has been doing this all season long to develop and deepen the bench and also bring more cohesiveness on alternate 5 man sets. Early in the season I agree whole-heartedly with this move, but late in the season I guess its debateable.
Its all a matter of perspective. Pop either goes all out in trying to keep developing depth and chemistry in our bench and doesn't give a where we end up seeded for the playoffs, or he plays his starters heavy minutes for the sake of insuring regular season wins. As long as we still have a cushion on 3-8 I think he should keep doing what he's doing, but if we keep blowing games maybe he should pull back a bit on all the experimentation.
I dunno pick your poison..
No I mean you.
Drink Draino.
Walk into oncoming traffic.
Do the world a favor, and swallow a razor filled apple.
I hope you're right, but it's getting crunch time. How many more games does he need to see Udoka suck. It seems highly unusual that he would consistently Not put Bowen in. Man, Bowen has the experience, the rings, what is going on? Has he lost a step and we can't see it? WTH?
don't sweat it OP. this is classic CIA Coach Pop. His plan is to let us slide down to the 9th seed so everybody forgets about us and starts taking us for granted---then we'll spring into action in the playoffs and the Lakers will be all like "Whoa, wait. What are ya'll doing here? You're the 9th seed, we're supposed to be playing the Mavs this round." And Pop will be all like "excellent, my evil plan has worked--they never saw us coming."
Hey dip ! Are you seriously asking if Pop is a good coach? Don't the 4answer your question. Do you honestly believe we would be here without his infinite wisdom. Do all of us real spurs fans a favor and ask your ing questions out loud before you post them.
calm the down ice. is he a good coach??? why stop there. is tim duncan a good player? is tony parker an allstar? is michael finley black? does geogre hill have a last name?
You settle down. The le was more to get people into the thread and also what I thought about Pop's coaching last night. I think I was pretty accurate as Pop coached a poor game.
Maybe I should have made the le 'Pop is a great coach'.
did you watch the game dumb ? Anyone who plays Ime for that many minutes, plays Bonner the majority of the 4th quarter, limits Gooden to hardly any time in 2nd half and ZERO minutes in the 3rd quarter DOES NOT know what he is doing. He makes good adjustments in series after the need for them becomes painfully obvious to everyone (recall our defense against the Hornets in last years' playoffs). Pop needs help on the sideline and it's not good that Buttenholzer is helping him out. We need PJ in the worst way. Overplaying Bonner, Ime, and even Fin when he's not hot guarantee an early playoff exit. He totally underutilizes his assets and mucks with the lineup way too much. Why the do you think the fans WHO WATCHED THE GAME are ING, moron??
