Landry was apparently the victim of a random shooting. He was driving in the 3,000 block of Leeland at around 4am when two men rear-ended his car. When Landry got out to see what had happened, at least one of the two men shot him in the leg. Landry sustained a flesh would and ran to several of his neighbors' homes to try to get someone to help him.
One of his neighbors who didn't want to be shown on camera said he had no idea it was Landry outside his door who needed help. He showed us the trail of blood Landry left behind.
"There was blood everywhere, all over the trails, all the way up to the front door, as you can see," he said. "He went to each of the neighbors' houses. The reason I know is because I heard the dogs barking at 4:30. Also, a neighbor came out this morning as I was rinsing off the blood, said that someone rang his doorbell at 4:30 this morning, saying, 'Let me in. I've been shot'."

That neighbor didn't let Landry in, as he couldn't tell who it was.
"(Landry) jumped over my fence and tried to get to my front door," the witness continued. "The reason I knew that is because I could see blood spots on the side of my house where he was trying to ring my doorbell."
Landry was treated and released from Memorial Hermann Hospital.
The Rockets had just returned from a big victory in New Orleans, where Landry had scored 12 points.
There are no suspects in custody at this time.
The Rockets released a statement about the shooting Tuesday morning. It reads:
"We are very thankful and relieved that Carl's injuries were relatively minor and that he is doing well. Carl was the victim of an apparent random act of violence early this morning after the team arrived from New Orleans. We are in the process of working with authorities to gather more information. Carl was treated and released at Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center for a surface wound in his left calf and a dislocated finger on his left hand. X-rays were negative. We expect him to make a full recovery and return in 1-3 weeks."

dude he got shot in the leg and is going to live and play ball again, stop acting like he is dead on the side of the street. You guys are too sensitive. The only reason you care as much is because he is on your team, if he played on the Grizzlies or was a garbage man, you wouldn't have any problems with someone joking about it.

Sorry, I don't joke about people being shot on the side of the road, My best friend from high school was shot and killed in a similar case....not something I find entertaining or funny, especially literally hours after the incident happened.

I don't find humor in him getting shot(My best homie passed away a year ago in East LA) but I find it funny how you guys got so pissed that he said Cleveland had no ghetto's.

You couldn't tell I was halfway joking with him with my St. Clair comment? I could tell he was joking because no one in their right mind would say Cleveland as a utopia, but then he started talking about Starbucks and The Gap so I couldn't tell.
I wasn't even joking about him getting shot- that is why Houston fans are so uptight. They let a joke go way over their head then they have to spin it around to make me look like the bad guy. I can't help that Houston is full of gangs and Cleveland is full of decent, hardworking, god fearing citizens.
Gaps and Starbucks are as rampant in Cleveland as liquor stores, payday loan shops, and gun stores are in Houston. So in that sense I'm not joking
