We have some of those glow gadgets, moon/stars/earth, etc....got them @ Spencer's.

The ones for kids are cool. Some of the others are worthwhile but the landscaping ones just seem to contrived to pull off.

We were thinking of doing that for the kids - put up a world map with a marker everywhere anybody in the family has lived. Good for making geography interesting.

I got one at the Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch years ago, for my oldest son's room when he was a toddler (he's 15 next week). It was so cool because the map had pictures of animals that are native to each area on it.
