Could Richard be an Ancient Egyptian thousands of years old who gained immortality somehow on the Island.A friend of mine mentioned that it was the statue of Egyptian God Anubis, notice the cross in his hand? It's similar to the one Amy took from her husband, it means eternal life.
Question is, how did the statue break, when all we are left to see are its toes?
BTW regarding the eyeliner crack by sawyer, The ancient Egyptian Men Wore Eyeliners (Yes I know this is how the actor looks like naturally, but I am talking about the show)

The way that he reacted when they said Daniel's name....it sounds like he's gone balls nuts.

It sure is interesting to see Sawyer being in charge compared to Jack. I don't think that sits well with Jack.
If Ben remembers all the character's from back in the 70's does that mean he has known this whole time that they were going to be in that time period eventually! Ben is hiding so much!
Also: Why wasn't Sun sent back to 1977 with Jack, Kate, Sawyer, Hurley, and Sayid? That's another big question.
Don't forget about the hieroglyphics on the counter inside the hatch back from season 2.
When Sun was talking with Christian, when the camera is focused on Sun at the very end of the scene, look in the background on the right. There's a woman sitting there!

My theory on Daniel is that he's off the island building the room with the swinging pendulum.
I honestly think this was the main focus of the episode...the confrontation in the house was probably the best exchange of the season.balls nuts!
It sure is interesting to see Sawyer being in charge compared to Jack. I don't think that sits well with Jack.
Of course, I think Jack's leadership had alot to do with the situation....always on the run from something and having very little understanding of the surroundings. Keep in mind he was only on the island for 4 months, while Sawyer has been on the island for 3 years.
Still, I think Sawyer's leadership style suits the situation they're in. I enjoy seeing him in that role.
As for how it sits with Jack....I think he'll accept it for now, but they'll be thrust into a situation (probably the Sayeed deal) where their styles will conflict again.
I definitely liked the setup though....Jack as a janitor
My question about the encounter between young Ben and Sayeed is whether Ben had already begun his transition to being the leader of the others. In other words, is he going to go back to Richard and say someone is falsly claiming to be an "other."
And your last question is one they better have a good answer for...b/c my first thought was the show producers did it to keep that "reconnection" drama alive. Like I said...better be damn good.
