I think PJ gave that answer just so he'd be left the alone about Drew. He said he's tired of answering those questions already but they wont quit. But since Drews already doing basketball activety, i dont think he will miss the entire season.
He's going to begin doing some practice drills on Friday. Hopefully he doesn't suffer any setbacks... but I expect him to return before the playoffs.

I love all the posts from guys saying the Lakers have no chance if Bynum doesnt return....and yet during the first half of the season were bagging on him as someone who has produced nothing and is overated.

damn never thought about that..now u know ppl just talk about him cuz they all wish they had him on their own teams. 7 foot centers with nice post skills are rare as is in the NBA these days
Bynum will be back this season.
We won't need him until the WCF anyways.
Exactly. The Lakers would be battling Dallas for the 8th seed if they didn't have Gasol.
So no, of course Bryant wouldn't be an MVP candidate if they didn't have Gasol. What has Bryant ever accomplished without an all-star center by his side?
Well, in 2005 he led the Lakers to the playo... Oh that's right, they didn't even make the playoffs that year.
What a superstar.
Except he's right on schedule 8-12 weeks. And it was a grade 3 tear.
Yeah let's rush Bynum back for a few meaningless regular season games. He's coming back for the playoffs which is the only thing that matters at this point.
Lakers + Bynum in the finals =![]()
i really dont care if bynum will be back or not, im confident this team could win it all without bynum WHEN their playing their best basketball, but as of right now, if the playoffs where about to start, they will not even make it out of the west, they look so bad right now in every way.
Are you re ed? They were the number 1 seed (over SA btw) before the Gasol trade happened.
What has Duncan accomplished without a hall of fame center or a finals MVP by his side?
Oh that's right, the Lakers two best players were injured for over 40 games and they had a mid-season coaching change.
Won B2B MVP awards, 2 Finals MVP's and 2 Rings.
Unless you consider a 37 year old D-Rob HoF caliber. Duncan was surrounded by a retiring D-Rob, a Rookie Manu, and a near teenage PG plus 30+ YO Role players during his primes years, and like i said, won championships and Finals MVPs, aswell as Regular Season MVP's.
Fluke championship. if Dirk didn't get injured Mavs woulda been da champs.
D-Rob's defense was still hall of fame caliber. Manu and Parker were both all-star caliber players.
Wake me up when Duncan drags a team of Smush Parker, Kwame Brown and Luke Walton and Lamar Odom to the playoffs.
Or when he wins a b2b. Which is something Duncan will never do and could never do. Kobe already has a 3-peat in his pocket and will be starting his next one this June.
Duncan dragged as bad of a supporting cast to the WCF in 01. Wake me when Duncan can't lead his team to the playoffs.
I bet Bynum would immediately put on his pants and rush back to games if now it was not regular season but in the game 7 vs. spurs in WCF, and also Manu for that matter. They are being saved for playoffs.
If Bynum isn't available for the start of the playoffs, Lakers will only have Josh Powell and DJ MBenga to backup Gasol and Odom. This bench lacks of depth and experience.
Lakers have an open roster spot, I expect them to sign a vet PF/C like Robert Horry or Adonal Foyle before the end of the season.
Phil is like Pop, doesn't want to show his hand. I bet Bynum is back on the court next week.
dood shut up with ure re ed guarantees. if i had a buck for everyime u had guarantee's, i woulda retired by now
Lakers are still the favorites with/without Bynum. They are still the WCF winners and until someone takes them out they are the frontrunners.
With that said, certainly, if Bynum truly isn't back and their not pulling any BS about him not even practicing for another 3-4 weeks, then the playing field is leveled. Now if only Duncan can get to at least 90%....
True. I think it's bull or he is seriously one of the slowest healers in the NBA.![]()
Hey 21 re s, check again, the Suns were winning the division before the Gasol trade.
In 2005, he won finals MVP, and had Nazr Mouhammed at center. Weird definition of a HOF center you have.

God dam you're dumb, by that theory Scottie Pippen is better than Bryant and Duncan because he has two three-peats, regardless of the fact he was nothing more than a sidekick.
Sweep the leg. Take out Gasol Then we will have the good old 2005 Lakers back.
Who makes the diagnosis?
Dr. House?
You're the doctor......
