Spurs could have put them away but they have clawed back within striking distance.

Not a bad half. You have to figure Allen or Pierce will heat up at some point. Maybe even Garnett in limited minutes.

We'll need a few others to score to take some pressure off Parker and Duncan too.

Wow Duncan really gets screwed by the statisticians. Hes had 3 blocks that i have clearly seen, yet he has 1 on yahoo.com.

Ive always though he was a little short ended on blocks. Do the stat ppl realise its still a block if it doesnt go out of bounds and the player doesnt chest pound and fist pump?

    Tim 5 for 11.

Was finishing up some work on a project so I didn't see the first half.

Is Tim shooting poorly because of his injury or is there some other reason?

Does Tim look really hindered by his injury?

yeah hes been robbed of countless blocks. missed out on tons of triple doubles (and maybe that one quadruple) cause hes always getting shortchanged on blocks, probably cause he doesnt make a scene when he does it.

Tim's 5 for 11. 11 points, 5 boards and I agree, he should be credited with 3 blocks.
    Nice half from Duncan.

Hard to say,at times in the game Timmy is looking good and aggressive then at times he is looking really bad. I'm thinking his knee pain is coming and going within the game.

they're making him take tough shots, right now in his condition he literally needs Parker to be his Chris Paul and give him easy baskets near the rim.

    ---------

the bench was so in' awful

    We're playing solid.

My biggest fear is when TP rest in the 2nd half. The offence get stagnant when he's out

Let's hope we don't produce one of those lottery-bound-teams-third-quarters, or we're in for a long night.

    Cool. That's reassuring.

If Tim isn't healthy, we all know that we are done.

At this point, all I want is Tim, Manu and Tony to all be pretty healthy for the playoffs.

    Thanks for your post!!

Hes 5 for 11. Perkins has played him really well, although Duncan has been a little lazy and hasnt decided to exert himself by using any post moves and banging.

Just a fake and jumper or a drive and hook shot. Normally when he drives to the middle and the defender beats him to his spot he goes to his counter, either a fake, up and under, or a spin. Instead tonight, he just forces up an ugly hook over the long defender which goes in about 0.1% of the time.

    I agree.

I was nervous about how he'd play tonight, I think he does look a little better. And it definitely will be a game-by-game thing. It's going to be a matter of severity on any given night.

If it weren't for the turnovers we could have been even further ahead.

That said, we got what we got in the Houston game in this first half...yet another glimpse of Spurs basketball in it's purest form. Everyone played good defense and the second unit looked really good. Parker and Duncan were Parker and Duncan...and the overall energy level was playoff-esque.

Duncan played a lot of minutes in the 1st half, 2nd only to Parker.. maybe Pop will have him do a disappearing act again in the 4th quarter.
