Spanoulis is FAR SUPERIOR to players like Pargo and Childress so far this year. This only prove even more what his level is. Pargo at point guard in Greece is like a joke compared to him.

Yes, hindsight is 20-20, but why can't you just admit it was a horrible move by the FO, and that the Spurs are worse now for it? Every team makes bad moves (Kwame was ours, although we ended up getting Gasol in the long run). The Spurs w/ Scola would be insane. Right now, their frontcourt consists of an aging Timmy and a handful of gots. Your attempts to deny the obvious just through sheer endurance are getting rather pathetic. If you want to be a poor excuse for a RocketFan sure...since the Rockets can't make it out of the first round I can at least understand the desire to root for a winner...losing so much every year. Scola will never be an NBA star. Scola will never be a Ginobili-type NBA player. But he is a damn good player. It would be great if SA had kept him. To this day, I still don't get why he wears Rockets uni . . .

If im not mistaking it was TAU Ceramica and not Scola who was making a big deal of the buy out thing. From what i have heard Scola really wanted to come to San Antonio, his favorite player is Duncan and his own kids are huge spur fans.... He wanted to be in San Antonio.

For the first time I'm on Whottt's side on this matter.

It's pathetic how some people can't get a grasp of reality and get over this trade and every time Scola has a good game they come out of the woods and pronounce him the lost difference maker for the Spurs. Yes he's good, yes it was a bad trade but there are two things people don't seem to understand or just conveniently skip :

1. There was bad blood between the Spurs and Scola, he was never going to play on the Spurs anyway, so comparing his contract to Bonner's or Oberto's is ridiculous and has nothing to do with the actual situation

2. Scola's trade value at the time was just that low. The Spurs tried to trade him during the draft but nobody offered anything of value, they then tried to involve him in the supposed Kings-Cavs deal, but things didn't work for some reason. His trade value was at it's lowest point, that's about it.

So, if all the moaners have any facts that are different and show the situation in a different light, then please, show us. But for all I know, as bad as the trade was, the Spurs had little leverage at the time.

So just freaking let it go. Every franchise makes bad trades and this one is by no means among the worst ones.
