With Nicholas Cage. It opened Today. I loved it. The movie, in my opinion was much larger than the trailer. I actually didn't think I was going to like it.
I only went to see how it would look because they shot it on the Red One Camera, a Hi-Def camera that I'm thinking of using for my indie film. Some cliche's, but overall I was impressed.
I recommend this movie.

That's what I thought. But it wasn't.
A movie about numerology? Count me out.
Was it anything like....

Why do I doubt that?
Nicholas Cage huh... yea he has a fine record..![]()
Yeah, as an amazing actor.
That's gonna run you $17k...without the lens...and their lenses start at $5k.
Still a great camera.
And be careful, it is styled after classical film cameras, which means that not everybody can use it (at least well). Having a guy that has some experience with it or with 35mm film cameras.
On a side note I had very high hopes for the RED, but they are still struggling with the noise in the picture (regardless it's better than any other video cameras in its price range - It's just that I rooted for them to compete with Sony and/or Arri).
im waiting for cages future action roles where his hair and makeup make him look like a complete clown, and stars opposite dakota fanning and miley cyrus
I might see it today, hope it is better than this...

In my opinion, it is.
Yea, I've been doing the research on it, still debating, but I think it's the way I want to go. I'll need to raise that money though. Renting it for a few weeks cost around the same or more, might as well try and buy it.
Thanks Slomo, I need all the advice I can get. I'm doing as much homework on the RED as I can right now. I'll do my best on finding the right people to surround me for production. Any other advice you could give i really appreciate it. I'll ask you as things arise if that's cool.![]()
1st things first, gotta raise that money.
There is another indie film about to be shot in this area on the Red. I'm going to try and see if they'll let me on the set to watch them work. Who knows, maybe they'll help me, or maybe not.![]()
I watched it this morning and I enjoyed it. A lot better than the day the earth stood still.
Lots of plot twists, excellent casting:

Well you got 1 right. Leaving Las Vegas was good. The rest blew ass.
The critics don't like it so far.

Maybe because it's not a typical Hollywood ending that makes you feel cheated and wondering what happened.
Having only seen the trailer, I already have a problem with the premise - that "major disasters" are worthy of prophesy. What makes dying in a plane crash or an earthquake, or a tsunami more damned important than simply dying of cancer, or a car wreck, or just plain old age? Do these prophetic visions derive from some collective spirit of deceased news editors?
I'm looking forward to seeing this ...
Throwing out that list, and forgetting Face Off and Raising Arizona, is not doing Cage justice.
That being said, this guy needs to stop trying to make movies. At some point, you gotta know when to fold 'em.
As is mentioning Raising Arizona and Face/Off in the same sentence.
Yeh, definitely two different genres. One you have to take seriously, the other one...you're much better off if you don't.
Looks like a ripoff of Pi. Is it a ripoff of Pi??
