CANNON is the song. "So uncanny, Ginobli flow left-handed"
he's mentioned in a Pharoah Monch song too..great line..
Also mentioned in a song by Tyga called AIM:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cf9njaEEHvY
"Always on point like Ginobili, come guard me..."
yeah. I heard that too.. The song was called "Push", its about falling, getting up and keep on pushing. Lyrics was like "Damn, dudes on some totally when he rides the bass line like Ginóbili".
Come to think of it, I do remember that line. Never paid as much attention to it 'til now. Gotta' love Monch baby....where's Prince Po these days?
Asher also mentions Tim Duncan in this song:
I wonder if he is a Spurs fan?
The 2nd coming of Eminem.. :|
that college song makes me want to punch babies. How do asshats like him get record deals?
he should never ever be mentioned in the same sentence as eminem.
That track off Quality from Talib Kweli..
It has Black Thought from the Roots, TKweli and Monch.. I think it's called 'Guerilla Monsoon Rap.'
It goes pretty hard.. gritty rappers with wordplay and are witty >>>
Mos def and Monch did a track that was good too, Nate Dog sang the hook.. can't remember the name at the moment.
I'm kind of iffy on Kweli myself, but I would jump on a track with Black Thought and ESPECIALLY Monch in a heartbeat....in fact, I plan on it!!
The other track you mentioned is, I believe "Oh No" off the Lyricist Lounge 2 complilation...a lame attempt at commercialism Rawkus tried to prevent the label from sinking. Monch always comes tough though, just wonderwhat happened to Prince Poetry? Stress was a classis single and album.
I think he has potential.
His single isn't all that, but it's marketable and so is he. That's the nature of the industry: if there's a market out there for you (especially one that caters to the youthful partygoers) there's a place for you on a label roster. Skills aren't really at a premium at the moment and haven't been for a few decades even though every once in a while a few talented artists who can't really be categorized get some time to shine.
I'm not familiar with Prince Poetry, I'll give 'stress' a look.
Mos Def's Black on Both sides.. you press play and let that album ride.
I love hip-hop form, San Antonio doesn't seem to have a scene though.
I have some friends that rap locally, but nothing to my taste. They are on that Z-ro and Flip, Paul Wall etc, style.
He sounds like Eminem....don't know if he adjusts his voice purposely or if they naturally sound alike.
Yeah, I know a bit about the rap scene in Texas....there's a group from Waco called the Strange Fruit Project that are pretty cool. Much different from the Screwed-N-Chopped, Sittin' Sideways, Candy Paint variety of rappers you'd normally find locally.
Mos is cool, though I especially love the guest work he did between '96 and '98 with groups like the Bush Babees and De La Soul.
in his A Milli remix song
he says "It's just these stupid mother ers never get, it's pathetic, yo they get to the pros and don't do like they red "
That is great, I hate in JJ Red , Duke!
