I think John Lennon should be in the discussion but out of that list I go with Waits.
John Lennon isn't American stupid.
Go ahead and say it, I know you're thinking it: Barry Manilow!
He wasn't American.
But, he's my all time favorite songwriter/musician.
Damn it, you're right.Didn't cross my mind.
Like it says, I'm really tired.
Souljah Boy
Too bad the only choice is American. I'd pick Andrew Lloyd Webber myself.
The guy that wrote the song for Ferris Bueller's Day Off.
Which song?
Zappa
The one that plays during the end credits while Principle Rooney is on the bus and the dorky chick offers him a gummy bear.
Doo-pow-pow . . . Ohhhhhhhhh, yeaaaaaa.
Yello.
Eddie Vedder shoutout.
The addition of Bruce Springsteen might be good for your poll.
axl rose and company. There's not many songs that equal the genius of Coma.
Freddie Mercury
John Lennon
Paul Mcartney
Robert Plant
Roger Hodgson
Peter Gabriel
Mick Jagger
Great list of Americans you got there.
Of the choices, I went with Tom Waits.
Wondered where the female representation was, though. Joni Mitc , perhaps? Carole King? Even Fiona Apple? Doubt any of them would have gotten my vote over Waits, but there should be at least a few women in the discussion.
I'm not so great anymore.
Aaaaaaaaand, niether one of them are American.
Of all those, only Joni Mitc has a catalog that can compete with the ones I listed.
