Are there anymore big rivalries in the NBA anymore?? Where's the bad blood and anger gone?? Where's the drama?? I know there are no real rivalries in the league anymore but if you had to pick one, who would be your teams biggest nemisis?

Interestingly enough, the only teams San Antonio has a losing record against are the Suns and the Lakers.

The fights were great but those games were usually borderline unwatchable. a bunch of 78-74 barnburners.

Not me. Those games set basketball back about forty years.

Cavaliers biggest historical nemeses: Pistons, Bulls, Bullets/Wizards

Suns-Spurs rivalry has turned into the UT-A&M rivalry: one-sided. But the teams still get up for each other and the Phoenix faithful over all-star weekend booed Parker, Duncan, Mason, and Becky Hammon the entire time.

Right now, the Suns' nemesis would have to be the Mavs simply because they want the 8-seed.

SA. They could have, actually they do have, Timmy on half a leg and Manu on the sidelines, but they still scare the out of me.

Right now the Suns nemesis is Amare and all the Amare lovers.

Unwatchable if you like bad, Western Conference basketball.

You might be a Suns fan...

Spurs-suns has been fun to watch the last couple years, but it's like a Greek tragedy now.....how many ways are there to break a team's spirit? Spurs-Lakers is always a classic, too, but it's like Gordon fans and Earnhardt Jr. fans before they became teammates: the compe ors themselves are as respectful of each other as can be, while the real venom lies in the stands.

That said, I can't wait for a healthy Spurs team to hit these lakers right in the mouth come playoff time....

I loved those matchups and I didn't find anything unwatchable about them. It wasn't like the basketball play was poor because it was not.

    Celtics and the Queens.
I would agree with you on the first one, but the second one is more of a passing rivalry. Heck, I would probably put the Clippers as a rival before the Kings. I mean, yeah the battles for Western supremacy were great in the late 90's-early 00's, but it hasn't sustained itself of late and could be a thing of the past with how the Maloofs are thinking about moving/or selling the team.

But I would first and foremost say that the Celtics are our biggest rival and though I dislike them with a great deal of passion--they deserve the respect afforded them. Blah.

Those series featured about 3/4 of the best games from the past decade. In fact, except for the SA/LA .5 game, nothing's come close to SA/PHO in recent years.

    In conclusion, Robert Sarver.

Back to the Amare trade situation: I didn't have a problem with unloading him, but if you're going to admit that you're "rebuilding" and ridding your team of it's most valuable asset (on paper), then you at least have to get something in return and none of the proposed scenarios provided that. It also blows chunks when you sell 9,000 quality draft picks (Rondo, Fernandez, Rodriguez, Deng, Kurt Thomas trade), over-spend by millions to buy out the Euro contract of a 2nd round pick that sucked for the first 60% of the year, think you have one-upped Atlanta, but then the Hawks get the lottery-protected 3rd pick and make the playoffs the next year while you trade away the waist-expanding SF/PF/C you received from them for a drunkard who leaves Roger Mason wide open; and to cap it off, you were Tim Duncan's first 3 pointer of the season away from grabbing home court in 2008, and a ridiculous 6-man-only rotation away from taking a 3-2 series lead in 2007 because your stubborn coach was too dumb to develop a bench throughout the season. To top if off, you're a struggling owner that has to buyout the contract of a coach who lost touch with his team by December and promote a guy who was on the bench all along.

Final point: I was going to say that T-Mac was the most overrated and selfish superstar with the way he apparently ed over the Rockets with his post-trade deadline "by the way, I have to get microfracture surgery" announcement, but the Suns' recent energy, hustle, and excitement on the court leads me to believe that Amare isn't necessary until can learn to defend, post-up, and play without ing. Putting the 4 dejecting losses aside, they've achieved a 5 game winning streak while becoming the highest scoring team in the league, cutting down on TOs (to a degree) and still leading the leage in points in the paint. , I can't write anymore without getting angry that they would be in the 5-spot in the east with their record but pretty much still need a miracle to make the POs this year.

Oh, look at Hollinger's playoff odds and you'll see that the Suns actually have a higher probability than the Mavs of making the Finals and winning the le, but the slimmest chance of even making the playoffs. Just one more example of how ed up this season has been.
