I know you gotta be careful with what you wish for...but come on! This is not the same team without Devin Harris and Josh Howard and Stack. Wright, Barrea, Bass, Kidd, Singleton bring a different look, but will not give the Spurs near as much trouble. Dirk and Terry are dangerous and it is the Mavs. And Dampier sucks. Spurs definitely by 6.

The Spurs won't have an easy round at all this year, maybe Portland might not be ready and wouldn't step up their game.
Of course whoever is the 8 seed would like to jump up. Why would they want the Lakers in the 1st round? I hate the Lakers but they're the most potent team out there.
I'm gonna have to say that there will be no easy match ups this year. Even though the records are'nt as good as last years teams are starting to get healthy and are begining to play better. I still dont feel that anyone out there can beat us in 7 game series though. but it wont be easy.
JJ Barea is an idiot. There is no Devin Harris or Diop on that team anymore, the two guys who gave the Spurs problems in 06'. And these comments are coming from a guy who's team is hanging onto that 8 seed for dear life.
Houston and San Antonio have been a heated rival for years even before Duncan. I'd rather play Dallas.

No it wasn't an upset. It was pure LUCK that the lowly Mavs got to play the Warriors less than 24 hrs. after the Mighty SPURS wore them out...!!!
I have said this for a while now. I think the Mavs are the worst first round match-up for the Spurs this year. Obviously the Spurs are not playing the Lakers, so the Mavs are the worst imo.
You never want to play teams that match-up with you, that are divisional rivals, that have nothing to lose and that have knocked you out of the playoffs before.

Actually one of the greatest in history. Dallas was dominating that year in the regular season and they lost to a bunch of no namers playing playground style ball. I have been around 3 decades, have never seen quite an upset.
And it felt great to watch. PURE MASSACRE.
No...I disagree, and I hate Dallas, but Golden State had won about 17 out of 18 games at the end of that season, and had confused Dallas all year.
It's not an upset if everyone and their stepmom thought that Golden State would give Dallas a very hard time in that series.
