Too bad...
That's what my gut is telling me. If he does come back, I'll own up and bump this thread.
And no this is not an anti-jinx.
this sucks. I don't wish injury to no one except jacque vaughn.
If you mean regular season, that's a possibility, but no way Bynum's missing Round 1.
My guess, Thursday March 9th vs Denver on TNT.
April 18th, 2009. Mark it on your calender.
It's good to see you still hanging on to see that happen.![]()
exactly, without bynum the lakers' paint only consists of a couple of soft asses who are gonna be blown out by the real paint players like shaq, even those average centers like perkins will be unresovable problems to phil.
even if bynum happens to recover before the playoffs take place, it will still be a very tough job to win the championship, maybe the lakers won't even get through the first round. Erick Dampier has been saving his energy for nearly a season and he hopefully will explode in the postseason, just like what duncan will do. Our team's only x-factor is just Erick Dampier, if dampier plays really like "the second best center in the west" then our team will have a big chance to wipe out the lakers by blowing their soft asses out of the paint. to some degree, the result of our first round vs. lakers will be determined by the control of the paint. both of the two teams have great scorers and exellent shooters, they only difference is our boys in blue have a real center who is bound to play the playoffs while the lakers can't make sure if their only center will play there or not. If Bynum comes back in time and plays at normal level then dampier is gonna be frustrated by him, otherwise Pau Gasol will face great troubles made by dampier.
Come on! The guy had a torn meniscus. He's already been out quite sometime. He's already on a treadmill- the guy is extremely young and he has tons of time to be back for the 1st, 2nd and the WCF round. So, I definitely bet he's back, no doubt.
Bynum's 80 million dollars looking like a bad investment right now.
lol...First it was Bynums overated...all of a sudden its "no Bynum= No championship".
What's so absurd about that?
Saying someone is overrated is completely different than saying someone is bad........Kevin Garnett is one of the most overrated players in the NBA but it's safe to say for Boston No KG = no championship.
so Bynum is like KG
Bynum's 21, so not really.
He's coming back for the playoffs and if he performs there, no one is going to give a about the games missed in regular season.
No but he's still a big part of your defense.. look at him as the gate keeper to your basket. Lakers down low without him have been giving up a lot of easy lay ins and such that when he's playing usually doesn't happen. With a healthy bynum in the middle the lakers are going to be tough as for any team, not like they aren't already but he's a big plus.
Even without Bynum, the Lakers have already beaten the Cavs in Cleveland, the Spurs in San Antonio and the Celtics in Boston.
Not having Bynum just means the Playoffs/Finals will be more entertaining, but the engravers have already finished engraving the LOB.
Portland = No Championship period
And Bynum will be back. We are still in the original timetable the Lakers gave.
I doubt Drew will be back either, and said as much in a thread yesterday. Still, even w/o Drew no team has beaten the Lakers more than once (accept Magic, who beat us with him)--so good luck winning 4 out of 7 times.
No, I never said that, stop arguing like you have the critical thinking ability of a 6 year old. My point was that even though a lot of KG's game is overrated, the team he's on isn't a contender without him.
I personally don't agree with "no Bynum = no championship", I don't think they'd have a big shot at winning without Bynum but they'd have a shot. Even though I think he's overrated, his presence still obviously makes LA better.
Mavs > Lakers in 6
OK.. Bynum is overrated. Yet, with a team with Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol and a HOF coach in Jackson, all of a sudden we cant get a ring without him. I dont know how a guy could be so overrated if that "kind" of team needs him so much.
Bynum's actually underrated by non-Lakers fans.
I rate him at about what he is. A 14/9 guy who makes a difference on D.
Whether or not someone says LA can't get a ring w/o Bynum, the fact is they can. They made the finals w/o him last year, and have won a game in Boston, Cleveland, and San Antonio without him. I just said they can in my previous post so idk why you responded to my post as if I said they couldn't win it all w/o him.
