yes exactly! i remember watching a pistons/celtics playoff game on nba classics. robert parish and lambeer were getting into the whole game. then one time they come down the court and robert parish swings his arms and strikes lambeer 2-3 hits in the face and lambeer crumples to the ground. he straight up smacked him, for all to see, in the face and dropped his ass.
he was not ejected.
he did not get a flagrant.
he did not get a tech.
he did not even get a FOUL
the refs just broke them up and went on the the game, i couldnt believe it hahahah
I'm too young to remember that play, but I've seen it on Hardwood C's, youtube and heard it described enough that it's one of my favorite NBA memories. So damn cool of the refs to let it go. Would not happen today under any cir stance.
