The refs calling that kind of foul on Manu is a dangerous slippery-slope to walk on because now other guys will try the same thing. Personally, I wouldn't have given CP3 three FTs. The call was a relief, but I was uncomfortable with it too. The way the Hornets executed in the final 30 secs, the game should have finished with a game-tying 3 attempt by the Spurs. It was a terrible sequence at the end.

Yeah, the Hornets deserved to win because they executed better down the stretch, but the Spurs should have had a fair chance to win at the end...the refs denied them that with their stupid/incompetent/biased (pick one) non-calls at the end.

Like I said in the game blog, there's only one player in the league that makes me wish for the 80s where you could clothesline a cheap player like Chris Paul. I get frustrated with players, but only Chris Paul has me calling for Pop to send in a goon squad type player to completely lay out Paul just to show him what a real foul looks like.

You're right, Paul is a great player. He doesn't need to flop, spin like a Power Ranger, throw his body into players and push off all while falling to the floor to draw the foul instead of just taking the shot.

On that half court heave that passes for a shot these days what if Gino had laid off of Paul at the last second leaving Paul in no man's land trying to nail a half court 3 with 10 seconds on the clock?

Just play the game. Flopping to draw a charge is one thing. Gino is a master at this. But constantly trying to draw a could for 96 feet is just plain ridiculous and it'll come back to haunt him like it did in the playoffs last year.

In their day, Lambieer and Mchale would have loved to get their hands on a guy like Chris Paul.
