It looks like Acadian Ambulance will be the new EMS provider for Bexar County. If y'all live "in the county", Acadian will be the ones responding. AMR is (soon to be was) the contracted service since 1998. As some of y'all know, I had worked for AMR for 6 years and I am sorry to hear that they will not be the county EMS provider. I have heard good things about Acadian Ambulance. I do know that they are EMPLOYEE OWNED and I hope it will show in the services they will provide. Sorry, RashoFan your incorrect. The commissioners's court doesn't vote until the 21st. Commissioner's courts have overturned Budget & Finance committees recommendations on plenty of occassion's. Everyone knows Acadian is putting it out there that it's a done deal but the fact is, it's not. Maybe someone needs to research the process.

I work for AMR now. They are both very good private ambo companies. I was very impressed with Acadian when I relocated there. The Headquarters in Lafayette (including the training grounds and orientation center) were top notch. I just hated where I was stationed and moved back to the east coast
