WTF is up with former Pro Players turning to Drug Dealing?

    http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=4033474

HAMILTON, Ohio -- Former NBA player Corie Blount has pleaded guilty to two felony marijuana possession charges in a plea bargain that could land him in prison for up to 10 years.

In exchange for his plea, prosecutors on Wednesday dropped two marijuana trafficking charges against the 40-year-old former University of Cincinnati star.

Sentencing was set for May 13 in Butler County Common Pleas Court.
Blount was arrested Dec. 4 after sheriff's deputies intercepted 11 pounds of marijuana sent to him at a relative's home in southwest Ohio. They later searched Blount's home and say they found another 18 pounds of marijuana.

Blount was a first-round draft pick by the Chicago Bulls in 1993. In an 11-year NBA career, he also played for the Lakers, Cleveland, Phoenix, Philadelphia and Toronto.

It's hard to go from making $1million + to nothing.

If players don't save while they're playing, they're screwed when they get waived/retire.

any idiot that throws away more money than most of us can dare to dream about making by living beyond their means. What's so hard about saving money for these people? Then he compounds it by stacking stupid on stupid and having the drugs stored in his home. That's just sad.

Just another reason Senator Webb advocates judicial system/prison reform. 5% of the world's population, 25% of its incarcerated criminals. It's absurd.

Absolutely right! On top of this, a good chunk of these players start making this $$ before they have acquired the life knowledge/wisdom to know what to do with all of it. Furthermore, they don't always have the best influences. From their friends from back home to the rappers they listen to, many of them never shed the old lifestyle once they've made it. As Jason Whitlock would say, "too much 50-Cent and not enough Jesus."
