JR Reid always pissed me off - so much talent, so little clue.
Okay I'm New to the S-Talk.
So with all the boo-hooing and downess...lets rate the Worst Spurs ever.
soooooooooooooooo.
1. is................................................ ...........
Sydney Green
...traded for Brick!!!
I was so pissed when this happend, Frank Brickowski was our intmidator.
Our 1989-90 Team was set, Brown and as usual, Bob Bas *&#@ up!.
We already had veteran leadership with Terry mings, Brick had been in the NBA 2 seasons already.
Sydney ended up with bone "Spurs", and delt off the following season.![]()
JR Reid always pissed me off - so much talent, so little clue.
Mengke Bateer
Jack Haley
Dwayne Schintzius
Charles Smith (the PF, not "spider")- guy was the supposed to be the low post complement to Robinson's FT jumper when we traded with New York to get him, but injuries and just plain failure to live up to expectations caused him to be a huge BUST for the silver & black.
Negele Knight, Lloyd Daniels, JR Reid, Tom Copa. Oh, and Moses Malone was a s of his old self when he was a Spur.
+1 We didn't get that compliment for D-Rob until we drafted Tim.
+1 I gotta second this.
He wasn't even good in NBA Live '95.![]()
Carl Herrera
cadillac anderson, when he tried to make a basket backwards, worst spur ever.
Frank Brickowski was traded for Paul Pressy.
Sidney Green I believe was signed as a free agent.
Who was then traded to Charlotte for JR Reid.
Alot of these names were scrubs to begin with. So the mere fact that they didn't perform as Spurs came as no surprise.
For instance -- Uwe Blab. No expectations, no performance, nothing to be disappointed about. Same goes for Charles Smith, Negele Knight, and Jack Haley.
Now ... as for Spurs from whom we got little return for our dollar, there is Carl Herrera (never was the same after his injury), Sidney Green, Damon Stoudamire, Nick van Exel, and Ron Mercer.
Alfredrick Hughes and the guy from Oregon who was a big time college scorer. He was a high draft pick and we traded for him and found our his jumper was about 3 in. off the floor.
My two least favorites all time are Steve Smith and Samaki Walker.
1) Smith threatened to hold-out if Pop didn't give him an extension after the DA trade. Pop must have been laughing his ass off, until Smith got him back by being a lazy ing worthless no-hustle in the 2002 series with LA.
2) Walker is stupidest son of a to ever put on a Spurs uniform. Right after he left, that sucker got on LA sportstalk radio and called David Robinson soft. Look in the mirror, you .
Paul Pressey was pretty lame as a player. I hated watching him play as a Spur lol. And the one sorry ass white guy we always had at the end of the bench for us years back. It was almost like they were passing off the torch. That so got on my nerves. Dwayne Schintzius was part of that and I don't remember who else off the top of my head.
Sweet Pea wasn't so sweet after all...
Doesn't belong here - he was great in the 2007 Finals, and has been a fine locker room tutor and all-around good guy.
Such a disappointment.
The Spurs drafted terribly for most of the '90s.
