"if one of the guys in the faiclity had a gun to put the gunman down" excuse for flooding the streets with more guns in . . . 4 . . . 3 . . . 2 . . . 1 . . .
so you wouldn`t have wanted something to defend yourself?
i guess that`s the thinking when you trust the government your life.
no. i will take the odds in that there will not be a workplace massacre at my place of employment. trust the govt with your life? Are you that stupid?
Yes, it's much better to rely on the cops who get there too late to do anything about it. Ban all guns.
What's the CLEAT position on this, AHF? I honestly don't know. Do you?
good for you, i won`t
no, Ώare you?
gunman killed 3 cops today...
Lets outlaw guns like we outlawed drugs! That turned out great!
Oh wait...
I mean it's not like a black market will pop up where people can get guns for cheap or for favors.
These pictures are from Mexico/U.S. war on drugs.
Wiki (sourced material captioned)
There's been other things posted here in every gun thread. Gun violence rates in the U.S., Mexico, Australia and Switzerland with no clear correlation between ownership rate and homicide rate.Within the United States, homicide rates vary widely, and the relation to gun ownership is not simple. For example, "20 percent of U.S. homicides occur in four cities with just 6% of the population New York, Chicago, Detroit, and Washington, D.C., and each has a virtual prohibition on private handguns"[22] Detroit has 47.3 murders per every 100,000 residents.[23] In contrast to these areas, some areas have widespread gun ownership with low rates of homicide. In 2005, Wyoming had the highest number of homes with loaded and unlocked guns, at 33% of all homes in the state, of any state in the United States[24] and had a homicide rate of 1.7/100,000.[25]
Also, outlawing one form of violence is not going to stop a determined killer

Obviously I'm not in favor of taking away peoples guns. What I have an issue with is the frenzy the GOP nuts are whipping up because this is what happens.
http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/09094/960660-100.stmMr. Perkovic and other former classmates said they were surprised by this morning's events. Mr. Perkovic said Mr. Poplawski was opposed to "Zionist propaganda" and was fearful that his right to own weapons would be taken away but he wasn't a member of an organized group or militia.
"He always said that if someone tried to take his weapons away he would do what his forefathers told him to do and defend himself."
Another friend, Aaron Vire, 23, said he'd helped Mr. Poplawski and Mr. Perkovic with a radio show they'd broadcast on the Internet, discussing "politics, girls and life."
Mr. Poplawski had supported Republican candidate John McCain in the presidential election and had "very spirited debates" about Democratic candidate Barack Obama, Mr. Vire said. Mr. Poplawski was opposed to Mr. Obama's election, which he thought would result in the loss of his rights, Mr. Vire said.
"He wasn't a racist but thought some of his amendments were overlooked," Mr. Vire said. Even though Mr. Vire is black and Mr. Poplawski is white, the debates over President Obama did not hurt their friendship, he said.
Mr. Poplawski told him he bought his guns "because he felt the quality of life was being diminished," Mr. Vire said.
"He said he'll be ready if there's ever an invasion of the United States and that he had stockpiled foods and guns for that eventuality."
More details in tomorrow's Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
Keep up the irresponsible fear mongering about people coming for your guns. Keep it up. Its doing a lot of good right now.
The conservative movement in this country is currently incredibly detached and irresponsible.
There is no fear-mongering. It is reality. This country is getting too polarized. How can you expect people to not be scared when the country is led by the radical left atm after having 8 years of neocons ing things up aswell, the country has been sentenced to extreme deficit, social security and medicare are still going to buttsecks the country, and the economy is no where close to coming out of the current downturn? All of this while Obama tries to lower Americans standard of living and highten its political control to the level of the rest of the socialist/communist world.
When the MSM/Government reports 90% of Mexican drug cartels guns come from America, when the reality is 17%; there is an obvious agenda.
Besides, it's not like these pathetic s that did these shootings were intelligent political minds bent on sending a real message. You can tell this by the innocent people they killed. Old people, officers, immigrants doing it the RIGHT way...![]()

oh !!! crazy alert
I missed BD. Why weren't you around when Bonner was having his coming out party?
You know, I have avoided the news the last few days but did hear a little. Not enough though. I have noticed a pattern that past 'gun killing sprees' happen in designated 'gun free zones.' Did these last two occur in gun free zones as well, where the shooter could have relatively good confidence nobody could stop thin right away?
The legal holder of arms don't commit such acts and we should allow them to protect us. the police cannot be everywhere, or do liberals want a police state?
...
this forum's quality of posters has gone to ... Every thread I look in is full of posts like this re 's.
good suggestion but it's acutally not feasible, just like most of Obama's promises and announcements. oppositely, the prohibitation of guns will probably provoke some die-hard gun lovers and make them do some crazy things with their guns. earlier this morning I heard a sad story on johnjeff show that a crazy gunner killed 3 cops. The gun problem of US is not piled up overnight, it can even be dated back to Lucky Luck's time. Just like the financial problems, the gun problems cannot be resolved either. Being a president doesn't only require ambition and passion, patience and diplomacy are even more important sometimes.
Mexican drug cartels used to get their weapons from the U.S. market. When the current drug wars heated up, they decided they needed something more potent, so they solicited the international arms dealers.
From a transcript of NBC Nightly News:
Authorities say Jiverly Voong planned a long siege, and to take on police. Clad in body armor, armed with two semi-automatic handguns both registered to him and a bag full of ammunition, Voong barricaded the back door of the cultural center with a car, then stormed in the front door.

There is the rare exception. As for protecting us, I meant the concealed carry.
What about the area? Was it a "gun free" zone where legal conceal carry citizens were not permitted to bring their weapons?
Wow, these guys really hate Nazis...
