so its the right decition to fire the coach days before the PO's?
You guys are morons..
Ya'll might as well pretend that we never won 4 championships.
Toughen up, you soft es.
Playoffs start next Saturday.
so its the right decition to fire the coach days before the PO's?
Second that. We're not Cowboys fans. At least not right now.
Why fire a coach! Just trade him!...TO US!
I'm just curious who should replace him?
They got beat by a better team at home. What's inexcusable are the two losses to OKC. That shows a mentally weak team and that starts with the coach...However, his track record is what it is so it is way to early to demand a new coach.
People give Pop way too much credit for the 4 championships. I give the credit to the players. We would have another championship if Pop hadn't screwed us in 06 with his small ball lineup against the Mavs. Even Pop would tell you that the team's success is because of Tim and Manu and Tony and supporting cast and that he's just the coach.
I do not want to see Avery as the Spurs coach. He's a screamer and players don't like him. I think Sean Elliott would be great but he doesn't want to coach because it's no fun.

Please, kill yourself.
This topic is a perfect example of ungrateful spoiled bandwagon fans. You know how many teams wish they had one NBA Championship ring? and yet you selfish salad tossing s are pissed you don't have number five?
Now you know why I had to bail on the Spurs 7 years ago it wasn't Pop or the team it was the embarrassment of having to be part of your silly little bi-polar meltdowns after every loss!
And don't give me that lame ass reply about how message boards are for fans to vent and a real fan vents! A real fan keeps that inside and waits until deep in the playoffs to talk about coaching mistakes and a real fan waits until the season is over before he talks about replacing a coach or trading a player.
WTF are you all going to do if the Spurs go all the way? "oh wait I was only venting! I never really meant to get rid of pop yuk yuk!"
You sorry ass excuses for Spurs fans are not worthy of the rings you already have If your so passionate about Pop leaving or Avery Johnson sucks, then give back the rings or STFU!
If I was Peter Holt and had to read this ? I would stick my index finger deep in coach Pops ass and give you all a dirty Sanchez you truly deserve.
Nyet, no, negative.....sorry, I'm not ready to give up on Pop yet despite the lingering Spurs malaise. Pop has proven himself and hopefully he'll find the cure which ails this team...unfortunately, it may not be this season.
No to Avery Johnson.
I am open to other suggestions though.
Why not just hide your lame ass under the name spursfan1001 or spursfan1002?
^ that's some old school right there dawg!![]()
firing Pop would be one of the stupidest moves in NBA history..
he's ing up a lot, but he's still the best coach in the NBA..
Hah... I actually agree with a Mavs fan here, sad as that may be in these cir stances. Half the Spurs' fans on these boards have absolutely no patience and no loyalty to anyone on the damn team. One bad loss and you panic. A stretch of bad losses and you wanna ditch a hall of fame coach? Despite the fact we have had an injury plagued season and are still the third seed in the west? This man is right; A real fan can control himself and wait till the season plays out before he makes his judgment, he doesn't throw everyone under the bus at the slightest struggle that inevitably occurs during the season.

Thanks mouse!![]()
lol +1
Haven't seen that pic in a while...it's a classic!
would this thread be up if we won?
Pop will be our coach no matter what happens in the playoffs. I still believe we can get it together in time to win it all. We may lose a few games bad in the PO though. It will be very similar to our series vs the Pistons. I still believe!![]()
all we need is pj back at assistant coach
PJ is another person vastly overrated by Spurs fans.
Spurs will have a 50+ win season with Manu Ginobili missing 30+ games, Tony Parker missing 10 games and Tim Duncan hobbling on hurt knees.
Pop is closer to winning Coach of the Year than he is to getting fired.
