it depends. i cant see the Lakers getting past Dallas in the 1st round but if they happened to play some other team than yeah they'll probably go on to the Finals
Is their anyone else in the west other than the lakers who have a chance at the championship?

TShlong is gonna come in here and say the Blazers. Then everyone is going to laugh at him.
I would say no.
In general there's only 4-5 teams that have a shot at winning it all and usually 3 of them came from the West (Spurs/SUns/Mavs trinity, Spurs/Kings/Mavs, Lakers/Spurs/Kings, etc).
This year it's shifted to the East (Magic/Cavs/Celtics).
Oh wow I didnt know the Lakers had a free pass to the Finals did anyone else? Because thats what this thread is suggesting....
That's what im thinking, ITS NOT LIKE THE LAKERS WILL MAKE THE FINALS FOR SURE. Other than that the Nuggets,Mavs and Hornets IMO have a shot at going to finals.
The Nuggets I'm not going to argue with you...but still havent proved anything with that team in the playoffs. But New Orleans and Dallas? You are outta your ing mind.![]()
I think the Cavs making the finals is more of a sure thing than the Lakers. Lakers are their own worst enemy sometimes.
I did...it's a forgone conclusion![]()
You're got dam right! It might take us 6 games, but we would beat the Lakers.
Blazers just can't beat the Lakers when it matters. Not even on a close out game, up 15, heading into the 4th.
Haha you have to be SD. The Mavs will be lucky if they win 2 games in that series. the Mavs suck
im stupid i know, but what does IMO mean???
haha no they wouldnt. they dont win on the road. but the Lakers can win in portland. while portland cant win in LA
The Lakers are the best team in the west, but they are also very beatable. Don't be too suprised if they lose.
ill be very suprised if they lose
the spurs are old and hurt, rockets one and out, hornets arent as good anyomre, jazz, blazers cant get a road win to save their lives, dallas- they just want a sweep to go smoke the bong etc no
Look im not counting chickens here ...Spurs looked bad but yet still have my respect IF Timmy is healthy ...
Houston is tough but ron will shoot you in and out of games ...
Denver and Portland unproven ...
Hornets Cp3 west Posey and a bunch of iffy role players
Jazz are tough but suck on the road EXCEPT when Dwill sees CP3 ...
Dallas is tough when Terry gets hot but they are proven chokers ...
The Lakers won't lose more than 2 games getting out of the West.
I can see the Lakers going down to us, Portland, Utah or New Orleans. I think they may be overconfident and in the end may doom them. They are the favorites in the West but they are beatable.
To beat the Lakers, apart from talent, you need the right combination of experience/smarts and energy/effort. The Spurs are the only team that have the smarts, but don't have the horses. Duncan with knee pads, unable to post up people he normally owns; Ginobili with a busted wheel not able to break down the D. That equals zero le chances.
NO, Portland and Utah don't stand a chance because they are just too wet behind the ears. NO is a one-man show with CP -LA's frontcourt is too much for them, not to mention Kobe. Portland and Utah won't win a single game at Staples, plus Utah has no one to guard Kobe.
If we combined Portland's youth with the Spurs' experience, you could beat LA. As it stands, no chance.
Karl's an idiot Billups isn't should be really interesting to see how that plays out. Also the Lakers did have the benefit of playing in a weakass division. Aside from them no other pacific division team is going.
