Sometimes you need success to be successful. The Spurs were one of those 'right there' West teams for ages - never having long stretches of horribly bad years at any point in our history. I don't think anything close to the Duncan Era will occur soon (after it ends - which it has not), perhaps for some time - but done after Tim?

No way. The Spurs go on. We will love and remember, but now les are our only goal, even when we become ty years down the road and don't even have a chance at playoffs. The le will be what the fans want, the only thing - adding to those 4 banners in the rafters is what we crave. It's like saying after 21 years of losing and so many les already won, Boston didn't care about winning the le anymore, only making their mark in the playoffs. The fans and management are mostly different, but the goal remains the same for the winners.
