    Manu was injured

Manu played for Argentina in the Olympics anyway

Many made injury worse, got injured again

    Manu play some ball

    Manu injured again

Did Manu overcompensate with his good leg because of his injured leg?

Not enough time to heal during off-season??

Opinion. Plausible? maybe. There's just no way to know.

Theoretically possible, but that hasn't been medically proven or anything. His stress reaction/fracture could be totally unrelated to the other ankle injury. Who knows. It doesn't matter though.

He was cleared by doctors to play in the Olympics but everyone knew that the injury/surgery would come eventually. If that injury didn't occur in the Olympics, it was going just be delayed and lead to surgery later (probably during the regular season this year). So either way, the 2008-09 season was pretty much lost for Manu, ever since last year's playoffs.
