The best salsa to make with a molcajete is by crushing/grinding tomatoe and garlic with some chile picin (the little round chiles).
I haven't seen any chile picin since I got to San Antonio. Do they sell that stuff in specialty stores, or what?
Picin is pronounced "pee keen" for those that are difficient in their Spanish.
You are right. I was talking flour tortillas.
Fideo is nasty
I do my own flour tortillas.
I hate store bought flour tortillas.
The only exception are the ones sold at Central Market. Those are pretty good.
i don't think you can roll corn torts. flour, obviously.
Never tried the ones from Central Market. Yup, rolling your own is the way to go.![]()
Fideo rocks!!!
Did your mom ever make you grilled cheese tortillas?(mexican version of grilled cheese sandwiches)
You mean "quesadillas"??
Hahaha, PandaSpur is re ed.
yea Except ours did not have meat in them.
Quesadillas don't have meat in them.
Oh yeah. My mom would get up and cook for me when I'd come home wasted. I think it was because I made so much noise stumbling around the kitchen.
According to who?
My dad says the same things about enchiladas.
yes albondigas for lent. aren't albondigas made without meat. that's the way my dad makes them. that's why he makes them.............for lent. and yes capirotada with lots of cheese. yuck you
Hey!! They do at Chili's!!
I always thought an albondiga was a meatball?!?
....and authentic quesadillas are made with corn and cheese only. chacho's didn't invent them.
thank you.
My neighbor has a huge plant growing in his back yard. I've reached over his fence a few times and taken a load of them. I've never seen them sold in stores. Back home they grow wild all over the place.
Same here. They are mushy and gross.
