I'll bring the rope.
Drew Gooden is becoming the man. I sure hope Pop & RC don't get another of those over-sized corncob's up their ass and let Gooden go to another team next season. If they do then it will be a sunrise hanging for both!!!
I'll bring the rope.
Wait, you expect the Spurs to use their mid-level exception this summer?
Wait, didn't we use the MLE this season?
If they let Brucie and Fabi go I think they are more likely to.
Fab, Ime, and JV leaving isnt enough???I don't want Fin to start next season with Gist and Hairston coming off the bench, I want Fin to retire, and Bowen to teach the rooks D. Not like Hill or Hairston need it, but everyone outside of Timmy does.
So how all did he score today, I decided to go oldschool and play Killzone1, cuz I didn't feel like watching on my laptop tonight. Much love to those who let me know, I hope I didn't miss any facials(like the one he pulled on the Cavs but no one had in their highlights, if anyone has a vid of that, hook me up).
Gooden and Thomas, the new two headed monster.
20 pts, 4 rebs, and 2 blocks off the bench in less than 30 minutes of work.
My dream roster for next season
Parker-Hill
Manu-Mason
Insert young and good defensive SF with a reliable three point shot-Bowen-Hairston
Duncan-Gooden
Rasheed-Mahinmi-Splitter
You do realize if they do this summer they'll go over the Lux Tax threshold, no?
Did we spend the MLE this season or not? Have this FO ever gone over the Lux tax threshold before or not?
Tonight was definitely a Good-en.
This season doesn't matter. If they use it this summer they will go over for next season. They've gone over it exactly once before.
Has this FO given up a top 5 PF in the game because of the Lux Tax threshold?
He pulled out an arsenal of shots tonight, he looked good..
I loved his last one. Parker's drive and kick to Gooden on the baseline for the 18 or 19-foot swish right in front of the Thunder bench. He ran down the court with the biggest grin on his face...like he had just gotten over.
If you're talking about Scola, it was more than a simple money problem. Then again, they did screw up with him, IMHO.
That said, they've gone over the Lux Tax when they deemed it was appropriate. So your entire proposition that they won't go over it is really merely an opinion. Plus it's actually a good thing if they can stay compe ive and don't go over it.
Parker-Hill
Manu-Mason
Ariza-Bowen-Hairston
Duncan-Gooden
Rasheed-Mahinmi-Splitter
I would love to sign Ariza but is pretty much impossible.
Timmy at 90% or more is more potent offensively, but Gooden still has a damn big arsenal of offensive moves, fadeaways, reverse layups(not Fab style with a feed, he does it iso), hooks, dunks. I really love how he plays above the rim.
They've gone over it once. Once. BFD. Obviously they are planning to maintain significant cap flexibility in the 2010 offseason as well. That's another reason they won't use the MLE this summer.
Great game from Gooden tonight.
While his rebounding was Francisco Bonner like, his offense was damn good and he actually gave effort on defense and looked semi decent.
Hope to see more of these in the coming weeks, and if he can pull down rebounds like he was brought in to do, then all the better.
I'm hoping Drew Gooden isn't Samaki Walker redux.
james gists biatchs holla
Since I missed last nights game, everytime Tim and Gooden hooked up against the Cavs, and Tim probably won't play tonight, what do y'all think of the chem starting between them I've been hearing about on ST?
It makes me so ing excited to think of the 09-10 Spurs having an inside game like LAL, LAC, or Phoenix. Add all the young blood and a healthy and rested Big 3, as well as JV, Ime, and Fab finally being gone to that possibility, and I think next season could be the most exciting in my short Spursfans life.
toot toot!
vs. UTA: 29 minutes, 6-14 FG, 2-2 FT, 14 points, 4 rebounds, 1 steal
Gooden is the by far the best post player Tim has played with since DRob. Did you see his moves tonight? Awesome.
