Well my DVR cut off because the show went over, lol. It aired live, but for those that were rec. it tonight will probably miss Adam's performance.
It didn't cut off here in Southern California. I thought he was great again. He takes anything that's thrown at him and makes it his. I still think it's his to lose. He's talented, polished, professional.
I like Alison for the runner-up.

The youtube from tonight. 'Mad World'
I still haven't forgiven him for Play that Funky Music: The Musical.
Kris Allen bombed what should have been the best song of the night. I'm not sure anyone was "really good" tonight but the verdict is in and the contestants this year really SUCK at picking their own songs. Producer intervention with regard to song selection is the only thing that can save this season.
And anyone who thinks Lambert was just overflowing with originality and creativity tonight obviously never saw this Gears of War trailer from 2006:
Lambert, you have been exposed.
Seacrest out.
I haven't seen that trailer, thanks for posting it.
I still think it's Lambert's to lose. He may not be overflowing with originality, but he does make a song his, even if the arrangement isn't new. He's got a great presence.
I agree with you on song selection, it's been lousy. But Lambert has caught me, I hope he wins.
Lambert just annoys the out of me. GOKEY/GIRAUD ftw!
I think that version of the song is also the song played during the final scenes of Donnie Darko.
i also liked that song that the blind guy sung, but he straight out ed that song over.
Thanks! My DVR cut it off...
DD to the rescue
The guy is amazing.
DD
I only watched Matt's performance.I thought it was very good.
I just have not been able to get into Idol this year.
I have not seen enough shows to become a fan of any of the contestants and I found last night's "sing a song from the year you were born" to be boring.
i'm still going or allisongo away adam.
The Watcher: 'American Idol' keeps dissing viewers
This week's time overrun, which caused people with DVRs to miss the final singer, is part of a pattern.
By Michael Hewitt
"American Idol" hates you.
OK, perhaps "hate" is too strong a word, but as Tuesday's episode proved once more, the show treats its audience with tremendous disdain.
In case you missed it: "American Idol" ran eight minutes long, and DVRs all over America stopped recording before contestant Adam Lambert got to perform.
And how did the folks at "American Idol" respond to the latest gaffe? By pointing fingers. When bloggers criticized host Ryan Seacrest for not managing the time better, he quickly blamed the producers. Simon Cowell blamed Paula Abdul.
But no one stepped forward to apologize to Adam or to the viewers for the screw-up, and no one promised to do better in the future. Nor are they likely to.
Why? Because "American Idol" doesn't care.
Running over doesn't harm "American Idol" or Fox.
By bleeding into the next hour, the show discourages viewers from changing the channel. Given the enormous size of the "AI" audience, the overrun inevitably raises the ratings for the next hour a bit. It also keeps those viewers away from other networks, if only for a few minutes.
The unpredictable show length also encourages viewers to watch "AI" live rather than record it, which the sponsors prefer. (And you'll notice that the commercials always make it in before the scheduled end time.) If the folks recording "American Idol" miss part of an episode because it ran long, well, too bad for them.
Lousy time management isn't the only way "AI" treats its audience poorly. Last season, Paula Abdul called the show's integrity into question by critiquing a performance she had not seen yet.
How did "American Idol" respond? Ryan Seacrest asked people to stop being mean to Paula. A year later, we're still waiting for an explanation of what happened.
Maybe the disdain for the viewers will erode the "American Idol" brand over the long term, but that doesn't seem likely. Putting up with poor service to get a product you like is not that unusual these days. (Any Slingbox owners out there?)
So pad your DVR recording time and learn to deal with the dysfunctional relationship.
You love "American Idol," but "American Idol" is not that into you.
I don't have a DVR so it's either watch it live or watch it on Youtube the next day. I did the latter this week. I missed the auditions and everything up to the semis because of Tax season and I didn't die. As long as I can, somehow, see Adam and Danny sing all will be well in my world.
I always record and watch later, but this week I happened to be watching semi-live (pausing to put the kids in bed, fast-forwarding through commercials). Anyway, so I didn't realize it ran so late. Eight minutes is a really long time. How do you mismanage an hour show into 8 minutes of overtime?
'Born To Be Wild'.
Not my favorite performance of his, but he still has my vote. I like what he does. And the way he does it.
Video is lousy quality, if a better one shows up I'll edit.
Anyone else feel like the show turns into Broadway Idol when Adam comes onto the stage.
In other news he's going to make some man out there very happy one day. If he hasn't already.
totally. this guy is a musical queen. every time i hear and see him i think i'm at a vegas hotel. i mean, he's good at what he does, but it's no american idol type stuff. i thought it was a horrible song. when i think "singing", born to be wild isn't top of my list when i think of a "singing" type song, but hey..........people are mystified by flashing lights and big stages these days.
It's too bad Adam didn't compete last season so David Cook could have owned his ass off the show in the third week of live performances. If Adam wins it's because he was the best bad contestant this season had to offer.
I thought Paula was going to pee in her dress the way she goo-goo & gaa-gaa'd over his performance.
I'm getting annoyed with the 16 yr old chick with red hair....argghhhhh![]()
I'm sorry I just don't like him.
But I thought everyone stunk last night, I didn't understand why everyone went with "slow" movie songs, didn't make any sense.
I agree 1000% it really showed this week. I was like "Umm? He's really good, and he's still going to win. But, I'll bet you that he's going to make a record and then not sell a lot because he just isn't that 'pop' sound that sells like David Cook, Kelly Clarkson, and Daughtry."
His first album is probably going to be called "Adam Lambert sings Somewhere Over The Rainbow, and 12 other songs little girls listened to while he was a little gay boy growing up in LA"
If that can all fit on the album cover.
