Yes, the less wear on them in the post season...the better. Too bad the playoffs wont be used to give the young guys experience, just more run for Finley, Udoka, Bonner and KT.
Anyone else think being swept out of the playoffs in the first round is the best thing that can come out of the remainder of this season?
Even with the big three at 100% and the old Popovich coaching the way he is capable of coaching the Spurs had their work cut out for them.
With the current state our le hopes are dead and gone.
I'd like to see Parker and Duncan get a nice long rested summer, Popovich to get a wake up call and Manu to rehab. Anyone outside of Parker and TD should be entertained in trade talks this offseason. Manu will likely reamin a Spur as his value here is likely much higher than his value in a trade.
Outside of the big three I really want to see the youth movement begin. I can not bear to watch another season wasted with these old stiffs, expecially with Parker in his prime and TD's career winding down.

yeah this season is over for me
I really hope Manu gets better
Injuries are a part of the game. It is time for us to realize our limitations. With a healthy Parker and TD we have a sound base to build around. A younger, healthier team less dependent on Ginobilli, with the addition of a solid presence in the middle will be right back in the thick of things next year.
Is it me or does Duncan's knees look bad
No I wouldn't wish that but I think w/the injuries and the way the team is playing, it may happen whether I want it to or not.![]()
You're joking, right? his kees have been hampering him for over a month.
Yup, I think a first round loss is ideal for this team, and I think it's likely.
There's lots of hope on the horizon though, with some nice youth coming in. Nothing to panic about, things just didn't break our way this year. Thank the Universe we were lucky with injuries in 03/05/07.
We are the Spurs!
We kick ass and take names.
Stop being so damn negative.
Support our players through thick and thin!
Our front office deserves our support after delivering us 4 les.
We have just as good a chance as anyone to win the le this year.
Spurs are gonna go all the way in 2009!
Go Spurs Go!

I support the players. That's why i'd like to see Tim get a long summer's worth of rest.
I keep seeing this stuff about Duncan and rest.
Okay, he needs rest and to heal. We know this.
His illness has come at a terrible time, and frighten the weak hearts here into believing somehow his career is about done or it's over for the Spurs. Whatever cir stance his injury and the loss of Manu has put the team through in its goal to win the le in 2009 le not only sucks to us as the fans, but to the players mentioned as well. This is nothing new, as some of us as fans have dealt with big injuries with this team in the past. What a lot of you in this thread, and on this forum in general need to do is understand our long term situation has not changed. We will move pieces and reload. Tim will heal, as it takes longer given age. Manu will play out one way or another. Gets healthy and comes back strong or we use him to reload with something else.
The glass is half full.
Teams and fans are jealous of what we have and our fans of here.
Stop got dayum freaking the out as the other thing you same people need to do is quite simply shut the up, toast a friends beer and chill the out.
Every mother er out there is loving this ...and its driving me ing insane.....
we virtually have the NBA record for most consecutive 50 win seasons..4 les in this decade..by far the best team of this generation..they can love it all they want, their team doesn't compare..
Sorry I can't root for my team to lose. I'm hoping they win.
I've thought a lot about that. If it means getting Duncan some much-needed rest, I can't argue against it. I just don't want to see Duncan or Parker push themselves unneccessarily. And I certainly don't want to see anyone else get injured. With the injuries and the way this team is currently constructed, I just don't see them getting past the first round.
Bull crap. I cannot and will not hope for an early exit. That is quitting. That is something I cannot except as a basketball fan or as a Spurs fan.
Play hard and if you lose fine.
These guys are professionals. Their bodies will fail them before they quit.
Oh they still love it! The idiot Suns fan in here who's team is not in the playoffs and the Spurs own every year is running his mouth, and some Rockettes fans too, and they haven't been out of round one since what 98? Both are pathetic, just ignore them and move on I guess. This is very painful to watch and we are not used to it, but the team has done SPECTACULAR and the record and rings show they are the team of the decade.
Seconded.
I can accept failure, especially due to the cir stances.. but not quitting.
Unfortunately, I believe Pop will get a free pass regarding his coaching this year because of injuries.
I think he's got some things to answer for this season. If you want to be considered a truly great coach, I think you've got to know how to make the best out of a bad situation. I'm not sure he did that this year.
No matter what anyone says, if you're a fan it's an innate response to root for rather than against your team. The offseason will come whether sooner or later, at which time the roster will be addressed, but until then I'll be pulling for my guys 100% no matter the opponent with the hope we'll pull off something special.

whatever happens in PO, Tim and manu will have rest. for tony, it depends on what the french NT does in the pre qualification tournament. The PO won't be such a big factor in the rest of our big three.
Try your best and go down fighting. an elimination, even an early or really bad one, won't change anything in my support for this team. to not even try would do.

I have a better idea why not show up waving the white flag? or better yet don't show up at all. Maybe Peter Holt can hide the Spurs in an underground bunker until the playoffs are over.
I hope Manu isn't reading this you all are pathetic. And don't bother showing your ass in the game topic I will hunt you down and expose your lame bandwagon ass.
