Don't encourage sicko behavior. This reminds me of a Twilight Zone episode. People were getting into hysteria turning on their neighbors until they finally realize that it was just a test to see how people would act in such an environment. Things were never the same in that poor neighborhood.
There is actually a relatively similar Psychological/Sociological experiment that concerns this, one of the most famous in history, conducted by Philip Zimbardo.
If you haven't read about it, it's an amazing and incredibly shocking piece of psychological research.

Dude, I am not going to take this next statement very far because, as someone else put it so well, we trade only in opinion.
I, frankly, dont understand anyone who looks at the world around them and doesnt think there is a future living coming to humanity. Doesnt mean it will happen in the next 5 years or even 20 years, because I have absolutely no idea. But, IMO, this world, its structure and order, is due for a very hard fall.
Not Biblical BS, but some form of near-to-complete global social chaos. In a strange way, I welcome it.

Really some on the right have gone over the edge a while ago, and right wing talk radio and Fox "news" are the cowboys driving the cattle.
I think that this particular fear is widely held on the part of the right these days, and isn't as far from the "mainstream" of GOP thinking as many on the right would like to admit.
The fun thing is that when the doom and gloom doesn't happen, there is a good chance that more moderate Reps might actually realize how bat crazy a lot of the Republican party is, and defect into the moderate side of the Democrats.
This will of course somewhat alienate the bat crazy left a bit more.

No one that's conservative really wants to see chaos like what is being talked about in the original thread. But as others have mentioned, we now have full on class warfare being perpetuated by many in D.C. (on the left), and all you need is a little history lesson to know that violence spread the last time we had extremely difficult economic times.
Couple that with the out of control spending of our current leaders in D.C. and inevitable coming hyperinflation (and just wait until the costs of Medicare and SS really start hitting), and it's reasonable to see some chaos in our future.
It sucks, but we're going to reach a tipping point somewhere along the way. I hope the I'm wrong (and that the original referenced info is wrong as well), and would never be more thankful to be so.
But it's comical for you to be associating the GOP with some right wing lunatic fringe and suggest that the Democraps are the party of reason. I mean you're talking about the party that is doing everything from shoveling more taxpayer money to ty banks to authoring bills to allow American citizens to sue the government because of global warming.
You need to wake the up and realize no one in D.C. cares about the American people, all they're doing is paying the idiots like you lip service while taking care of their donors and business friends and making sure they can stay in office next time around to get more bribes and get rich.

Given your rebuttal about how many on the right are as out of touch with reality as you seem to be, I would say my "care to admit to" has a good chunk of truth to it.
