I think we've shown we can be a solid defensive team for stretches..we're ranked 4th or 5th in the NBA IIRC..the problem is that we are unable to mix both..so when our offense is clicking, our D has been inconsistent..and when our D has been clicking, our offense has been poor..

we had the same problem last season..

I highly doubt there are 5 guys in the NBA that set better screens than Kurt Thomas..he makes it into an art form..
when you're as wide as a refrigerator you better be setting screens & picks.

    No it's not well said.

How do you know for sure that we couldn't get back to being a defensive team?

We've only got a small sample size to go off of and when Bruce was playing more and started those few games I thought the defense was pretty good.
    Again, well said.

Obviously Pop does not have the same confidence he once had in Bruce, because he doesn't use him like he used to - to cool off the hot perimeter guy, whoever it may be.

When you have no Tim, you're playing Bonner rather than Horry, Bruce barely gets 12 minutes a game, and Manu is sitting (not a great individual defender, but a gifted steal-gambler), there's no way you can play D at the level we've come to expect of the Spurs.

we need to stop jacking up so many 3s....attack the rim or shoot some midrange jumpers.

We are attacking the rim. The Spurs have around 20 fts. The Spurs are balancing well. No one would complain if the open shots went in.

Spencer Hawes is having the game of his life, just because I hate him as a player...

    Kurt is playing horribly..
Just think of Spencer as Brad Miller-lite.

I love KT, think he's been our most consistent non-big 3 player this year. He's just having an off night.

I highly doubt there are 5 guys in the NBA that set better screens than Kurt Thomas..he makes it into an art form..
Yup, he sets awesome screens, one fo the best in the NBA no doubt.

Bonner really needs to learn how to flop..Hawes pushed him around a few times down low when he was pinning him, he stumbled a bit, but he should have fell..that's how you get calls in the NBA..

I can guarantee that Kurt or Robert Horry would have flopped..
