Yeah, Jon Barry was actually pimping Parker over Williams the other night. It was kind of awkward.
Maybe he thought he'd try being right for once.

Barry is one of only 2 ESPN writers to have included Tony Parker in his MVP voting list (at 5th place, same for Sheridan). Weird coming from him.

Well, the context of Barry's argument was actually who was having a better season. This season, I think Parker has both outperformed Williams over the long haul, and carried his team further.
As far as the big picture goes, I think it's a closer debate than some people want to give credit for.

JON BARRY! I dont give a if he gives parker a top five mvp vote IN THE LAST WEEK OF THE SEASON? especially after the season Tp has had carrying the team when TD or Manu werent playing....they just as recently as this month finally start to mention parker...and not even along side CP3..but Deron Williams(who i do love btw..unlike cp3)who was injured for a big part of the year and cant will his team to win on the road....total bull IMO.
So get this... was out running errands for work and was listening to herd this morning. anyone hear his conversation with jon FACE barry? this is similar to what they said.
Collin: Ok, jon. well run down the list of playoffs matchups if they started today and you pick who wins with an added sentence as to why. Lets start with the west.
Collin: Lakers- jazz, nuggets mavs...etc etc.
they get to the spurs-hornets being 3 and 6 respectively and Collin goes.
Collin: Ok jon, so the Spurs would play the hornets, what do you think?
jon: Oh the spurs.....done. Ill pick the hornets.
collin: done?
jon: done...done.. old..done
Collin: done. yeah theyre kinda like the last episodes of golden girls. youre just waiting for them to be dead and done (yes the herd compared us to the golden girls)
jon: haha yeah Duncan cant run anymore...old and done
I get it were old, i wouldnt say were done just yet though. I think we have atleast 2 if not 3 more solid years around our big 3 with pop. I dont think Manu is done, I dont think the Spurs are done. Crucify me if im wrong, but listening to that made me furious (and sadly i like collin cowherd). I can't stand colin cowturd but it's typical "what have you done for me lately" opinions spouted by the talking heads. I'm not surprised they have a low opinion of the the Spurs because frankly they haven't looked dominant as in years past. While I think the Spurs are getting older & they need to replenish, I still believe that when the big 3 are healthy surrounded by quality role players, the Spurs have one more championship fun in them. While they may not be on par w/the lakers or up & coming blazers, I wouldn't underestimate them or their championship pedigree.
This may be wistful thinking but I hope the Spurs prove them all (including myself) wrong in the playoffs; is it too much to ask for a portland-san antonio wcf?
Another thing about cowturd...I d/l espn podcasts daily and in one segment he was interviewing nate mcmillan, coach of the Portland Trailblazers. Now you'd think he would talk about the Trailblazers and their accomplishments thus far and what they need to do to be a championship contender...he spent a good 15 minutes talking about the lakers, the return of bynum....I'm thinking.....uh, what about the trailblazers....they eventually got around to discussing gred oden but it was in the context of bynum, et. al...this guy sounds like a serious lakers homer...everytime he discusses b-ball, the Lakers take up most of the conversation.....They are other good teams in the western conference cowturd!

Brent's wife was on ESPN 1250 w/Chris and Jason this past Thursday or Friday not sure and she said she wouldn't put too much into anything Jon says. LOL

I sure hope she had bodyguards to protect her from Chris and Jason. She also needed them when she went into HEB Central Market because Chris and Jason were always hiding in the trash cans waiting for her.
