If Portland wins do we still get the 3rd seed?
Bring it on es! I thought you limp-wristed fairies learned your lesson in 2006. Guess you guys are just slow learners.
LET'S GO MAVS!!!!
If Portland wins do we still get the 3rd seed?

Oh man, the only team I want more than San Antonio is Portland. We own the Blazers.
This has become a very good night for the Dallas Mavericks.
That's what you'll be saying as we wave goodbye to you in the rearview mirror on our way to the second round.
Why? wasn't the new rule that Division winners don't get a top 3 seed automatically?
Division winners + non-division winner with best record get the top four seeds. I believe if the non-division winner finishes with the second-best record, they get the 2 seed, or the 3 seed if they finish with the third-best record.
Spurs are a lock for the 3rd seed even if the Blazers win. If the Blazers win, they'd be tied with the Spurs. And here are the tiebreaker rules:
Two-Team Tiebreaker
1. Division winner (this criterion is applied regardless of whether the tied teams are in the same division)
2. Better record in head-to-head games
3. Higher winning percentage within division (if teams are in the same division)
4. Higher winning percentage in conference games
5. Higher winning percentage against playoff teams in own conference
6. Higher winning percentage against playoff teams in opposite conference
7. Higher point differential between points scored and points allowed
Oh well, you guys aren't Denver or LA. The second round is possible.
TP averaged 31 a game against Dallas this season, look for more of the same this series.
Dallas no longer has Devin Harris to keep TP under wraps.
No Manu for you guys. I think this series is going 6-7.
You guys should've at least won the championship in 06. Punk asses.
Uno Anillo, Puta!
We got ours back in 2006...at least according to a revisionist sect in the NBA forum.
in favor of the Spurs, if Manu was healthy it would be in 4 or 5. I agree completely Findog.![]()
Arhggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg ggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg
Any series between these two teams goes 6-7. Spurs just don't have a reliable way to guard BOTH Dirk and Josh, and Josh has conveniently recovered his 2006 form just in time to kick off a contract push when his deal expires next summer. Throw in JET as another guy who can create his own shot and is a Spurs killer, there's no way the Mavs win less than 2 games in a series, Manu or no Manu.
On the flip side, the Mavs can't deal with Duncan, won't have HCA, are not as good defensively, and they lost a significant matchup advantage with the swap of Kidd for Harris. Kidd will take Mason/Finley and play the passing lanes, while JET/Barea will try to match TP offensively.
This series goes 6-7. Either team could win it.
I agree with the bolded, as much as I hate Dallas this series will go 6-7 games and be a tough battle for both teams.
Too bad you don't own the Spurs.
