Its time to revenge the MAVS for 2006

Both teams are very different now. Manu is out, Harris is gone, Diop is not there to defend Duncan, etc. Tony is also better this year than he has ever been. Josh Howard has to show up...so does Roger Mason.
Lots of intangibles. It's the kind of series that could easily go 7 games but at the same time it could go 5 if we are hitting on all 8 cylinders.
I think I will go with the sexy pick and say Spurs in 6. Duncan looks ready...and that's all I need to know.
What's the latest on Josh Howard? He usually kills us and I could see him making mincemeat of the presumable Mason/Finley wing combo.
Yea, portland on the road was the one scenario I wanted to avoid the most. Dallas was the 2nd scenario. This series will be a dogfight.
I think it's more about whether we see focused Howard or Lamar Odom Howard.
I believe this is one of those series that could go either way.....sure, the teams aren't the same from the last time they met in 2006,but this is a rivalry series, so you have to throw regular season matchups/past matchups out the window.
Here's what I think:
Bowen does indeed need to spend more time defending Terry. Dirk's going to get his points and Terry can get awful hot quickly.
No more Devin Harris + No post options on the Mavs = Parker is going to have a field day in the lane.
Erick Dampier can't guard Tim Duncan...even on less than 100% Duncan still has the edge in this matchup.
Barea could be the X-factor for the Mavs in a game or two....I think Gooden is going to have a big role in this series, and I believe Mase and Finley still have some buzzer-beaters in them.
This is going to be an intriguing first round matchup, I really don't think there will be any blowouts......
Spurs in 6.
As long as Duncan is somewhat healthy, this is going to be a very entertaining series.
Howard's missed over 30 games this year but is relatively healthy now. Personally, I don't think he's as good a player as he was in 2006. But he'll still give the Spurs some problems, though perhaps not as many as before.
He is one cheap shot from Bowen away to being out for a game or two
Gotta love Erica.![]()
"Lamar Odom Howard" is way too generous. Unfocused Josh Howard is far more useless.
Well let's someone FedEx him an ounce of hydro, because in my memory he usually gets it up for SA.
Howard has been playing balls to the wall the past few weeks. As close to vintage 2006 J-Ho as he's ever gonna get again.
Looks like Denver will lose to Portland now spurm fans lament losing to the Nuggets in that game in which popazit decided to rest his starters, the Spurms and Nuggets would have finished tied with the spurms holding the tiebreaker and possibly the second seed by virtue of better conference record.
The Spurms vs. Mavs, simply a very bad matchup for the spurms, Mavs are getting better by the day...while the Spurms getting worse.
Mavs in 6
It's a tough match-up.
To all the overconfident fans, you realize the Spurs are playing without Manu in the playoffs, right.
Mavs have all their players and are playing really well now.
It will be a very difficult serie. I hope Tim will be healthy enough to beat the Mavs.

Mavs will win in 6 games.
If we ended up tied with Denver because we lost that game, wouldn't we have ended up ahead of Denver if we had won that game?
But you lost it so denver owns your sorry asses.
Mavs in 6
+1 on every count
I'd like to see some of Udoka on Howard. I think he may be the best option for him defensively.
Spurs in 5, but I am an optimist. Tony is going to torch them and we might even see the Jet get grounded by young George Hill! Defensive pressure and the Mavs will eventually crumble under pressure.
I want REVENGE!
Congrats Spurs for making it to #3 in the WC![]()
I think Howard is too quick for Udoka. If Howard is keyed in and killing the Mason/Finley wing combo, Bowen IMO is the only Spur who can slow him down.
