    It's payback time!

Call me overly melodramatic, but the way the mavs eliminated SA in '06 still leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. It was unlike last year's postseason exit at the hands of the lakers--even a die-hard Spurs fan could see the writing on the wall with Manu hobbling around. No, the '06 series was personal because it's an in-state rivalry and they beat us on our home court to go to the WCF and eventually the NBA Finals. Only thing that made it bearable was Miami ripping off 4 straight to relegate the legion of hooligans known as mavs fans to wearing conference championship gear. CONFERENCE. CHAMPIONSHIP. Personally, I wouldn't be caught dead purchasing or wearing Spurs' conference championship gear. It means zilch unless you bring home Mr. Larry, and last I checked, that golden trophy has yet to see the little d. There's a reason the Spurs are the Pride of the Lone Star State--we're one of only two teams to go to the Finals multiple times and remain undefeated.

So this series is about a lot of things, especially if you're a Texan. It's about reclaiming I-35 as our playground. It's about Finley finally getting postseason revenge against his former team. It's about shutting up Cuban. And it's about sending a message to the rest of the league that while the Spurs' championship window may be closing, it's never completely shut as long as Timmy laces up his Adidas for the Silver and Black.

    Beat The Outta dallas!

I don't know why you waste your time on the Dallas Mavericks. They're nobody's. As long as they have a mediocre team with an overrated Dirk, I don't see why we can't beat the out of Dallas in 5 or 6 games. I wish we had Robert Horry so he could plant J.J. Barrera into the scores tables. Maybe the Spurs fans at the home games can chant "Wife Beater" when Jason Kidd is shooting free throws. What a class act.

it won't be the same the mavericks are a s of who they were in 06. it'll be nice to beat them but it won't feel as great because they're not near the challenge they were in the past, but for the thread's sake......

if spurs win I will celebrate like they won the championship.

This 1st round vs. Dallas is the spurs "championship" IMO
